It would be easier if I weren't a soft touch and he weren't so darned sensitive. He looks at me like I've committed caticide when I won't give him gooshy food...
Those members of your crew must have been wearing red uniforms.
We have a SERIOUSLY heavy cat, Andrew. He is truly big-boned (about the size of a large terrier), but is a ton of muscle and some fat as well. We've estimated he's between 25 and 30 pounds. When he sits on you, he leaves pressure marks. However, our old skinny man, Max, is the one who begs for all of the food. He was a street cat for several years before finding us, and thus always feels like this food will be his last. So, basically, our house is the opposite of yours, as Andy only cares that the dish is empty because he cares about Max.
Cairo was a tiny little thing for many years -- we've always called him the "tot" (because the older two cats when he came to live with us were very large, and one was known as the "potato cat," so Cairo was obviously the Tater Tot...). When Silhouette was young, he was quite heavy because he is very large (some people wondered if he had some Maine Coon in him), but he was never fat. Cairo has gone to fat, though. He looks a little like Maru of You Tube fame...

Poor Cairo. In some ways, it's too bad they don't have lap bands for cats.
