In which I am much merrier

Hooray for nutmeg3, who informed me that the Coke points will roll over to the next promotion, so I just have to wait and see what rewards will be available come the new year! And then I will lay in wait and snag something spiffy from the first choices. (Instead of being sideswiped by insane people who obviously manage to drink even more than I do... which I believe is impossible, so they must be conglomerates, Dumpster divers, and wacky followers of other Coke drinkers in order to get THAT MANY points! I do wonder about that gown, though... last Sunday none of them - they had them available in every size from 2 to 16 - even had so much as a "quantities limited" tag on them...)

And hooray for fenchurche, who sent us a box of Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe Joe's, as she learned my woe in the discovery that every store in Arizona was already sold out.

This afternoon, in the rosy light of the falling dusk and a cloudy Arizona winter sunset, I saw a hawk lazily winging across the street a block or so ahead of me. He wheeled around, and I saw several pigeons scatter. As I rounded the corner, I saw him snatch a pigeon from the air and land on top of a telephone pole with his dinner. It was very cool (I assume had I been closer, it would have been gruesome, as well).

It might freeze tonight. It never really warmed up today, but the only rain we got was just enough to make my dirty windshield REALLY gross. Tomorrow's high is suppose to be 57, but this station doesn't say anything about rain.

Mail was heavy today, but I dug in and was just finishing my own work when they announced there was "no way" we could get it all done today. I came up out of my happy work haze and found everyone except me and Jaeda still had huge piles of mail on their desks. This led us two to really wonder what the heck our co-workers actually DO during the day. So we have to go in early tomorrow to get it all done.

My crunchy gingerbread cookies, though, were a huge success. I'll have to add them to the "good cookies to send out" list.

I haven't done a lick of writing in some while, just batting ideas around in my head. I don't know how long one should wait to hear back from a publisher before deciding to try and send it to someone else.

Of course, I can't remember everything I was going to post, but I've probably rambled on long enough...

work, writing, friends
