HOLY CRAP!
this was the best damn day that i have ever had in my WHOLE entire life! let me explain...
the tape is amazing. the guy edited it and it's playing "alive" by P.O.D. and it's the perfect song!!!!! everything is perfect! and so yea, i have pictures so IM me if you want to see them because i don't know where to host them! :)
okay, so at 0815 i went to liberty center and at 0830 the van left for beautiful emerald coast.
we got there, and the first group was instantly suiting up!
*skips to good part*
anyway, three jumps later i am suited up and walking out the airplane. i thought i was going to puke but the guy that i was going to be strapped to was the cooooolest guy in the world, so i knew it wouldn't be too bad.
so we get on the plane and i am looking out the window and the cars already look like bugs...he shows me the thing on his wrist that shows altitude, we were only at 1000 feet, we had 12000 more to go...i thought i was going to die! i wanted to back out but rick, my instructor, said there was only one way to the ground and it was attached to the front of him...
so, at about 10000 they make us unbuckle and get strapped to the front of our instructors and i am basically hanging there strapped in....
13000 ft and they slide the door open and my friend, melissa falls out first, so rick scoots us to the edge and it's FREEZING and i look down and melissa is already GONE!! so i yell, "i don't think i can do this" and the guy that video taped it all grabs my cheeks really tight and fixes my goggles and then rick just rolls us off...
i chose to do the somersault fall instead of just going flat down, and so we did like 3 somersaults and then he tapped my shoulder and we flattened out...the videographer is right next to us in mid air with a camera strapped to his head getting it alll on tape!!! he comes over and hooks his feet to my hips and shakes my hand and blew a kiss to the camera (for my mom :)) and then a minute later he came over again and hooked onto us again and he fixed my goggles...let me tell you it is the weirdest thing in the world to be just flying 120 mph straight down and have someone who's not even attached to you grab your face and fix your goggles.
not long later the chute got opened up at 4500 ft. yea, i free fell from 13000 to 4500 and it was downright AMAZING!!!!! and once the chute is open is silence. it's so crazy.....all you can hear is you and your instructor and the chute fluttering in the wind and you can see for MILES!!!! it was beautiful. did some cool turning things on the way down that felt like the tilt-o-whirl and then came in for an awesome landing!
