Well, looks like the birthday came and passed pretty quietly for once this year. Sure, I had a party, but it was a small one an' I didn't really do much other than eat a buncha cake with a few friends and ruin An-chan's efforts to prank me. Sorry 'bout that, An-chan~ Not much gets me after all these years of folks tryin' to trick me on my birthday.

Old is a miserable little word. I can see why people reaching a certain age would want to keep their birthdays quiet, to wallow in their grief of becoming withered and unlovable alone--I would certainly opt to--but you're further from that stage than many of us here, so no need to fret quite yet, I don't think.
