home again...

So, I got back from Chicago late Friday night. I had a good week as far as training is concerned. Met some cool people, learned a lot, etc. BUT, I also had the flu while I was up there...that proved to be pretty interesting. It took me about 45 minutes just to take a shower and get dressed each morning...very sore and achey (sp?). I knew I had reached my lowest when I didn't have the strength to stand up so I would sit on the commode while I shaved my face. Anyway, I was coughing, had fever, nose running, sore throat...the whole nine yards. But, I made it through it thanks to many prayers that were being sent up for me. Thank you to those of you who were thinking of me while I was gone. One afternoon we got out of class at about 4:30 and I felt so bad that all I wanted to do was just go to my room and lay in the bed and watch tv. So, I didn't go out to eat with everybody...instead, I just stayed in my room and watched "Date My Mom" and "Parental Control" on MTV...and later on I tuned in to "American Idol". That night, I ordered room service (personal cheese pizza, a pint of haagen-dazs ice cream, some type of off-brand Sprite, a large glass of orange juice, and a bottle of water). All to the tune of $33.27...but, it was well worth it. And I couldn't help but feeling like Kevin McAlister in Home Alone 2 when he was in the Plaza Hotel all by himself and he orders all of that room service. I sat there on my bed with that huge tray in front of me and just enjoyed a few bites of everything I ordered. Then, I took 2 NyQuil LiquiCaps and went to bed. The next morning, I felt great...like a new person. I guess there's a lot to be said for splurging on a variety tray of room service once in a while...sure made me feel better. But, I appreciate the prayers even more! Glad to be home for a couple of weeks. Peace and blessings.
