Still here. (mostly)
I've been 'nudged'. Ok, yeah, that was at least a week ago, but thought I might post & let what few readers I have know what I've been up to lately. Honestly, not much. I've finished school, and I'll probably be hearing about a test date to take the national exam in the next two weeks or so. I'm only working at one hotel these days, because the other one got robbed when I was there. The investigators suspect that someone has a personal grudge against either the property or the owner, and believe me when I tell you that there's no way in hell that I'm going to risk having another knife at my neck for $7.50/hr. I got out of there so fast I left a vapor trail. On the down side that does mean that I'm down to one job, and only working 40hrs/week just doesn't agree with me. I get too bored twiddling my thumbs at home. I'm turning 30 next month, and the only feeling I can muster about it (aside from a bit of amazment that I've lasted this long) is ick. I've never minded that other people are that old, or older, but I don't know- I just don't like it. Couple that with my ever-expanding waistline, and you find me leaving the hotel after eight hours of work only to sign-in to a day labor company to pull another 8-10 doing something construction related. Spending time at the beach or joining a gym might have worked too, but this way I'm getting paid to get tan & fit. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I tend to make a better impression than a lot of the other bums/drunks/crackheads that show up there, so they always give me work if they've got it. The manager at my night job has forbidden anyone to use the internet while on the clock, so my net time has dropped to almost nill. I still get around to check my friend's list every now & then, but putzing around on LJ seems like a lousy reason to get fired, so I'll be pretty quiet for a while to come. I guess that's about it, really. Not glamorous, exciting, or even terribly post, but that's what I've been up to.
