This was for sure one of the best weeks of my life. I love being a kappa during homecoming week. I have never been so busy but so happy at the same time. I definitely haven't slept enough this week but it was so worth it. Monday was the buddy social and i hung out with Steph and we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Tuesday was really exciting because it was election day and I loved looking at how long the line was every time i walked past the arena. Not that i like people waiting in line but the fact that that many students care enough to vote. That's what i call democracy. We had a really long dance/skit practice so I missed comedy knight and we spent the whole time on the phone trying to find out election results. I got to the arena just intime for comedy knight to be over, but also just intime to check in. We stayed in the arena for the election party. I cannot even explain how exciting that night was. Watching people dance and cry just shows how big of a deal this is. I love that Florida went to Obama! We stayed in the lobby and watched McCain's speech. Then we got kicked out and people went crazy screaming for news cameras. I went back to my room and watched Obama's speech. I could listen to that man speak forever. I barely slept that night because i was just too excited and happy and just watched the news channels all night hoping to hear him speak again. Wednesday was skit knight! We were supposed to have practice at 3 but not enough girls showed up so we just hung around with the theta chi's. We helped make the Jerry Berry costume and found out that we had to be trees. It was fun to just hang out and get to know the theta chi's. Then we got ready and had to get to the arena really early because we had floor seats! (yay for winning box tops!) While we waited, we danced, we took pictures, and we froze our little butts off. All of the skits were really boring and it sucked that we had to go on so late. I am inlove with our skit. Everything was perfect. I love being on stage and performing. The men in tights dance was perfect and hilarious. I'm so proud of us for getting 2nd in dance! Then i stayed up really super late to study for my amh test which ended up being really early (because i did the review). After skit knight and my test thursday i felt so relieved. I went to the concert with amanda, emily and john. Dashboard was amazing and beautiful! And we danced, of corse. And we pelvic thrusted with panic. Pink's "So What" is way better when played by Dashboard! Then we drank and i played dress up and rock band and listened to beta's songs. I finally went to bed at 4am and for some reason woke up on my own at 8am and couldn't go back to bed. So I lolligagged and got ready for Spirit Splash. Spirit Splash was crazy! There was so many people and the water was freezing. I'm so happy I went. I tried to keep my face from getting splashed and kept my mouth closed the whole time to not get sick. I haven't seen any symptons yet so we'll see if it worked. I found kappas and we took pics with our splash guard. Then I walked my dripping self back to my room and showered the second I got back. And instead of napping to recover from the night before and preparing for the night ahead I just kept myself busy. Then around 8 I went to help with float building. At first there was nothing for me to do and I felt like I was getting in the way. I mean it doesn't take three people to glitter words. So I went to whataburger with amanda. Then when i got back I finally had things to do. I paper macheyed (sp?) trees. It was a really fun night and I feel like I bonded with some more sisters and theta chi's. I stayed the whole time, til 5am! Everything went so well. We finished with time to spare (and take pictures of corse). We walked around and checked out the competition. Except that there was no competition! I came home and slept for 2 hours and then got ready for game day. I went to the parade and found so kappas and a theta chi to watch it with. Our float was for sure the best one in the entire parade. And it had men in tights doing the men in tights dance on it! Doesnt get any better than that! From the time the parade ended til the game, we tailgated at the theta chi tent. Then i went to the game with kappas (including my big!) We were surrounded by freaks that screamed the weirdest stuff all night. Like when people were leaving early because we were losing so badly, they started yelling at them not to leave and said they should go to community college. Then we went to the bball scrimmage game for a little. Now I just don't know what to do with myself because homecoming is over. I can't wait to find out the results and who won tomorrow. I also can't wait til homecoming next year so I can do all of this craziness all over again!!
