Quite A Day: True Compassion And Care

Feb 21, 2006 21:05

Hey peoples, I've been quite busy the past few days. I am somewhat tired, but I am doing okay I guess. I have had my share of bad headaches, but they have subsided for now,I hope. I guess the added stress and worry about Jason has been taking its toll *Sighs*
A few friends and I were going to make a quick trip up to see Jason in the hospital yesterday, but the weather has been so unpredictable so we decided not too. I was a bit upset but I also understand. I just miss Jason. On the upside though, I did get a chance to talk to him by phone and his docs say he's doing well and should be coming home soon. I can't wait.
Anyhow, I have been in a...how do I put this, dispute with dad for a while now which I will not go into detail about, but he needs to understand a few things, lets just say he takes on too much at one time. And, yes I know I do the same quite a bit myself, but there has to be a breaking point...doesn't there? Most of all, I feel bad for him. He says I have every right to be upset with him but I also understand what he's doing and what it means, so I can't really say much.
As for today, I went to the mall this morning and before I even got there my day was getting off to a bad start. To begin with, the wheelchair lift on the Rt. C1 bus wouldn't work so I couldn't get on the bus. The bus driver, Connie was kind enough to call one of the other buses to come pick me up (very rare). 10 mins. later Rt.A1 came to pick me up and thankfully the wheelchair lift worked on that bus. Rt.A1 took me to the square where I transfered (or at least tried too), the lift decided to quit working on Rt.A1, so another bus driver (Tom) come on the bus, picked me up out of my chair and carried me to his bus, and set me down in a seat on the bus. Tom then went back to the other bus, folded up my chair and carried it onto his bus.
I stayed in the seat upright as best I could until I got to the mall, then Tom got my wheelchair off the buss and put in back together and carried me off the bus and set me in it making sure I was okay. I then thanked Tom and gave him such a big hug for his generocity and care and I was on my way.
If thats not true compassion and care, I don't know what is, I will forever remember what Connie and Tom did for me. I am deeply thankful and apreiative of what they did for me.
When I got to the mall, I bought a DVD, ate lunch and saw an exellent movie, Eight Below with Sharon (a close friend). It was inspired by a true story and I encourage everyone to go see it. It brought me to tears.

Adios!!
