Don't usually do this, but I started writing, and I couldn't stop. So here's my review of the latest episode of Veronica Mars, 314: Mars, Bars.
Okay, first off, I cannot believe they killed off Lamb! Just about DIED. How could they? He was just becoming a human being, what with actually doing his job and all lately. *sigh*
Didn't really feel the chemistry between Parker/Logan, kinda like Piz/Veronica, or Duncan/Veronica, so it kinda bored me there. Really glad they didn't drag out the V-Day scavenger hunt. But because Logan was in the scene, I didn't mind it per se. I, however, am dreading any cutesy, kissy scenes between them. I can't help it; I'm a LoVe shipper, and I'll go down with my ship. Which lately, has been sinking pretty low. But I'm holding out hope. *crosses fingers*
I was happy for Mac, finally having a good experience with sex. Beaver really screwed her up, and while I think I wouldn't have cared really about the scene, I was glad that she was getting over Beaver.
Yay, Wallace and Weevil! Wherever have you been? Did you get lost? Abducted by aliens? Kidnapped by one of the million fangirls out there? They really should have more scenes! Geez, Wallace has been gone a lot of episodes, and when he is there, it's only for like, 30 seconds. NOT cool RT. And don't get me started on Weevil's scenes, only having to do with the dean lately, or only on screen for so little a time. I miss my guys.
I also loved the scene with Logan visiting Veronica in jail. I was so hoping he would, and when he did, I was like, OHMYGOD! Yay, for once it's switched around. Veronica's in custody and Logan's looking at her through the bars. I also liked them being pretty civil to each other, and Logan offering to help Veronica out if she needed it. And then she took him up on the offer! Yay! (Okay, I'll stop now. I just love these two together)!
Also loved that Keith is Sheriff again, only I'm wondering how long that's gonna last. If he does become the permanent Sheriff, what will happen to Mars Investigations? I do love that setting so much more than the police station.
Oh, and loved Sacks this eppie. When Lamb and him were going into the house, he just looked so out of place. I couldn't stop laughing!
Only thing that really bothered me about this episode was Lamb dying (obviously), Josh was kinda boring, and I couldn't believe Veronica was willing to be so helpful in helping Josh skip the country since he was practically a stranger, even if he was innocent. Then there was the whole Logan/Parker thing (again, I know). While they don't exactly bother me, since they're like bread (HA! sorry, poor poor Lamb, what was he talking about?), it doesn't really make it believable if Logan really does start dating her. After moping after Veronica the last couple of episodes, I guess I could understand him sleeping around, or even "hanging out" with other girls, but out of all the girls at Hearst, to start with Parker? Veronica's friend? And so soon after their break up? Just don't buy it. Sorry. Especially since Veronica went to such lengths to catch Parker's rapist, then she goes around and dates V's ex, like, a week after they break up. And if they do, it will just be not making any sense. At all.
Other than that, really liked this episode surprisingly. Out of ten, I give it a 8.
