First:  Eric and I bought our couch today.  It wasn't the couch that he'd first set eyes on and fell in love with--instead it was a couch that was basically the same LOOK.  The loveseat was actually part of a sectional that we were just going to take that part of.  It reclined, was a two seater, and had a cupholder and little cubby hole that remotes would probably fit perfectly in.

While I thought it was a good idea to get it because it was comfortable, we enjoy laying down on the couch and recliners aren't always comfortable over a longer period of time--say if you're having a movie marathon or something--and you don't have very many options about which way you can lay.  So we opted for another one that has the same colors and is a full-sized sofa.  It doesn't recline however and it also doesn't have the cubby holes, but you know what?  I'd rather have that extra seat because our apartment isn't that big -- seating is of a virtue.  The main thing Eric didn't like about it though was the fact that the two back cushions are a different color than the rest, but I think I can make that work.  It may require some money and such, but hey, that's fine with me.

Second:  Spring break is here and I'm NOT excited.  I do have a few things planned.  Monday, I'll be going home to see my mother, see my friend, and have my eye appointment.  I'll only be staying for the day, but that's fine.  I need to pick up my chairs that my friend's friend has had forever now too.    Then I have the rest of the week.  Friday I get paid and I'm thinking that since it's spring break and Eric preferred to buy a couch over taking me to Jacksonville that I might get a massage.  It's been almost a year since I last got one, but it was so amazing.  I definitely need to do that again.  It all depends.  Then on Saturday, I have my sister-in-law's baby shower to go to.  Should be fun.  HOWEVER, there are some things that I need to do.  Those include working on my interview for my WGST class and also doing the damn postings and readings for that class as well.  There's plenty to do in that class and it's very easy to get behind.  It sucks.

Third:  The Vagina Monologues are being put on by my school and it just so happens that my teacher convinced me to be in it.  So now I've invited the entire family.  It should be very interesting. My monologue is "My Short Skirt".  That reminds me -- I need to practice it over the break.  There's practice every day after spring break.

For those of you who don't know, The Vagina Monologues is a play by Eve Ensler and it's part of the V-Day movement to stop violence against women and girls.  So the OTHER thing that the women's and gender studies department of my school is doing is a sex-toy slumber party, which is going to be UBER exciting.  You get to buy things and...wow.  Just enjoy life.  Play games related to sex.  There's also a practice scheduled for that night as well.  I'm very excited about how this is going to turn out.

But now, I'm headed off to book-land.  That's not a real place by the way--it's made up to indicate that I'm going to leave and read now.  haha.
