Heaven and Hell, Tate Langdon knew nothing about either of them. He was still in between, on Earth, stuck on that house for years, and for the years to come. Some might think that was a curse, being forced to watch time passing by endlessly for all of eternity, but Tate didn't think so. Not at first, at least, when he had her.

With Violet Harmon living with him, both together in death, this kind of life would be worth living (did that even make any sense? He wasn't alive, after all, but expressions like those often came to his mind involuntarily). Living together forever, that could be his paradise; he didn't need to go to Heaven, they could build their own little piece of heaven in that cursed house.

But it couldn't happen. You're a psychopath, Ben's words still echoed in his mind, and a part of him actually believed him. Violet wasn't an idiot, he would never be again with the psychopath who raped her own mother. It was illogical just thinking about it. He wished he could take it all back, go in and kiss that beautiful ghost girl he once called his own, but she would never reciprocate again, and Tate was doomed to stare at her from afar for all eternity.

That, he thought, was the worst curse he could think about.
