Teaching is a learning experience
I am teaching biology at a Junior College this semester for the first time. It is such a learning experience. I just can't believe everything that the students try to get away with. Their second test is tomorrow and I have had two students email me with their sob stories about why they are going to have to miss it (and BTW their sob stories were lame. One can't make it to class because her drivers license was revoked). I just don't get it. Why be in college if you aren't serious? Test are a part of college, deal with it.
I am annoyed and I guess I am extra annoyed because I have a real reason I don't want to be teaching class this week but I sure as hell will be there. My mom is sick and having surgery on Wednesday morning and I can't be there because I am 700 miles away. It sucks and if I didn't have to teach I would probably be going to be with her. So screw them and their stupid ass lame sob stories cause I don't want to hear it tonight.
