Indiana Jones
So I really, REALLY want to like the new Indiana Jones movie as much as the original 3. I love Harrison Ford, I think he's one of the sexiest men around and it isn't because he was Han. Dr. Jones is smart, funny, always up for adventure, always getting himself in trouble, and wonderfully imperfect.
I've watched the new trailer and...well...I'm not so sure. I'm sure Indiana will still be wonderful, the kid may or may not be ok, but what really has me worried are the effects. Could it be possible that new, high-tec special effects will actually detract from the movie rather than adding to it? When I was watching the trailer it just seemed like people standing in front of a blue screen with badly done background and unreal looking action. Indiana swings up into the rafters with his whip and something just doesn't seem right. Maybe the whip seems a little too long. Maybe its the way his body moves (looks pretty fake to me). Maybe the charm of the original movies was that Harrison Ford did a lot of his own stunts. Maybe it doesn't even matter if he does them, maybe its just that no real people are doing them this time.
I don't know...maybe I'm wrong. I hope so, because I love Indiana Jones and I don't want to see it go down like a sinking ship rather than leaving well enough alone.
