As a Druid, Katelyn almost always had animal companions nearby, but especially so when she was unarmed. With her enchanted twin daggers lying near her clothing so far away, she relied on a hawk sitting atop a nearby tree to serve as her lookout.
The girl happily splashed about in the water, humming a song to herself, until she quickly spun around after hearing the bird cry out it's warning. Though she could easily use the magical knives' ability to call them into her hands, she had little to fear while in the water. She could swim like a fish even in her human form, and could easily shift into a shark to make any potential threat think better of trying to ambush her while she was "defenseless".
Searching for the cause of the alarm, her blue eyes focused on the figure crossing over the horizon and quickly realized that it was just one of the students. Relaxing once again, she casually stood there, pouring water over her nude body, not making any other sound until the second girl came close enough for her face to be seen. Once the sunlight caught the cotton-candy pink tresses of hair flowing out from behind the girl, Katelyn playfully called out to her friend, seemingly not embarrassed at all. "Oh! It is Utena the Prince! What...what brings you out so far from the campus?"
Utena nearly stumbled with surprise when she heard her name called out in a familiar voice, and she slowed her pace as she reached the small lake, coming to a stop on the muddy bank. Katelyn was standing in the crystal clear water, naked as the day she was born and seemingly completely unaware of the fact.
She averted her eyes with a blush, carefully not looking at her friend.
"Katelyn! What are you doing- I'm jogging."
Flustered, she shoved her hands in the pockets of her jogging pants and shifted her weight from one foot to another.
"I am, washing clothes, and taking a bath." Katelyn spoke to her friend calmly, not knowing what else to say. Her own presence seemed simple enough to explain, and to her it seemed more out of place seeing another girl so far away from the comforts of campus life. "I have, never seen anyone jogging here before. It is difficult ground for most to cross..."
Noticing Utena's awkward looks and the way she refused to make eye contact, Katelyn began to wade to the side of the pond. She pulled her upper body onto a large, flat rock along the bank and tried to peer around and look at the girl despite how she turned her head. She rested her chin in her hands, propping herself up by the elbows as she curiously watched the pink-haired prince. Not sure what was wrong, Katelyn tried to cheer her classmate up instead. "It is, a beautiful day. Would you like to swim, instead of running through the trees and bushes?"
Nobly resisting the urge to stare, Utena looked everywhere but Katelyn's breasts, glistening with droplets of water. The weather had warmed a good bit, of course, but the combination of cool water and air had served to harden the girl's nipples. Utena's cheeks felt hot as she struggled not to look and take advantage of her naive friend. Surely Katelyn couldn't know the effect she was having on her friend, and she would no doubt be horrified if she knew what Utena was thinking now. Inside the pockets of her loose jersey jogging pants, her fingers clenched. She tried not to think how soft Kate's skin would be under her fingers. She inadvertently scratched the inside of one palm with a fingernail as she flexed her hands, and she lifted the lacerated skin to her mouth out of habit, then fiddled with the zipper on the track jacket, feeling suddenly very warm.
Unable to display the same sort of tact, Katelyn curiously turned her head to one side and stared at Utena. Her friend simply stood there in silence for the longest time...not making conversation, or continuing on her jog, or taking her up on her offer for a swim, or anything. The older girl just stood there, leaving Katelyn wondering what it was she might be thinking.
Hesitantly, she eventually spoke up. "Is everything, okay?"
Utena nodded vigorously, replying quickly. "I'm fine, fine, really fine." I'm babbling! "I came jogging over here to do something different. For more of a workout, you know?" She paused, fiddling with the track jacket again, then unzipped it and removed it, revealing a plain white sports bra underneath. "It's warm..."
Katelyn pulled herself almost fully out of the water, taking a seat on the edge of the rock on which she lay. She leaned backwards, arching her back slightly as she stretched out. One leg was bent to rest her foot on the warm, flat surface while the other foot still dipped it's toes into the cool water.
"Yes, yes. It is very warm. It is a perfect day to spend outside." She turned her head sideways to better watch Utena as she causally chatted with her. "I would, spend much time in the water when I lived on the Great River. It was very cool to swim when the sun grew hot. It is not as hot here, but it is still much fun on days like today."
(OOC: You're going to give the poor girl a nosebleed, you realize!)
Utena heard a strange squawking noise, and was mortified to realize it came from her own mouth. Her cheeks were burning and she was fairly sure that her skin was scarlet. The sudden rush of blood to her cheeks must have robbed her of thought, for the next thing she knew, she was stripping down and jumping into the pool to cool off.
The water's cold. Cold is good. Like a cold shower! It'll distract me...
She dove under the cool water and stayed under as long as she could hold her breath, trying to ignore the images of Katelyn's nude body burned into her brain.
She closed her eyes as she soaked in the warm light of the sun, but grinned as she heard her fellow Slayer break the water with a loud splash. Deciding to play a little prank on her, Katelyn took on the form of a small amphibian and silently slipped into the water, attempting to sneak up on Utena from behind.
Swimming as deftly as only an aquatic animal could, she quickly made her way behind the submerged girl, treading water as she waited for her to resurface. She floated upward until she was just below the surface, thoroughly enjoying Utena's confused looks as she realized that her friend was no longer there. Moments later she quickly reverted to her human form and launched a sneak attack on the unsuspecting girl, playfully splashing water on her from behind.
Jumping as though she'd been goosed, Utena temporarily forgot her embarrassment and pounced on her friend, dunking her under the water in retaliation. It was only after Katelyn had come up for air that Utena realized her hands were on the girl's waist, and she fell back with a weak laugh, her cheeks stained with red.
Katelyn returned the favor, falling forward on top of Utena as she began to lean backwards. She wrapped her arms around the other girl, pouncing on her to knock them both back under the water's surface. She pretended to hold Utena down for a moment, before swimming back up for the surface with her hands still on Utena's back, helping to carry her upward.
Utena found herself close to Kate, the other girl's breasts almost brushing her back, hands on her waist. Later, she would say that she was temporarily insane, but at the moment, she could do nothing but turn around, the skin of her waist moving smoothly under Kate's hands. For a moment, she stared down at the shorter girl with an inscrutable gaze, conscience warring with arousal.
Katelyn stared up at the taller girl with her big, blue eyes, unable to tell what Utena was thinking. Despite this curiosity over her companion's somewhat odd behavior, Katelyn giggled because she was happy that the Prince did not seem as nervous as she was earlier.
At one point Katelyn was worried that her fellow Slayer may have even been upset with her judging by the way she seemed to keep her distance and not want to speak to her, but that no longer seemed to be the case now that they were both playfully splashing one another and dunking each other under the water. Relieved, the still smiling Katelyn leaned forward to hug the older girl, her hands sliding from Utena's hips to encircle her waist, and her breasts pressing up against those of her classmate and friend.
She couldn't know...she doesn't... Utena trembled slightly in Katelyn's embrace, then brought her own arms up, encircling the girl and drawing her close. She could feel her blood roaring in her ears and her heart was pounding against her ribcage as if she were sprinting across campus in full armor.
She licked her lips, glancing down at Katelyn's smiling face. Slowly, Utena bent her head down, until she could brush her lips along Katelyn's cheek tentatively, almost afraid that her friend would jerk away, and yet also half hoping she would, thus relieving her of this war between her morals and desires.
Katelyn was somewhat confused as she felt Utena's kiss on her cheek. She did not know what new game her friend was playing, but as a blush began to fill her cheeks for some unknown reason, she decided that she found it pleasurable nonetheless.
Briefly resting her head on Utena's shoulder, nuzzling her cheek somewhat against her neck, Katelyn tried to figure out what her response to this new action should be. Not wanting to stall too long, she did what she so often did when in an unfamiliar situation and repeated Utena's own action. Craning her neck upward, she placed a delicate, gentle kiss on the Prince's cheek, looking deep into her eyes to see her reaction.
Utena's eyes fell closed, slowly, and she felt suddenly warm all over, despite the cool water surrounding them. Opening her eyes once more, she looked into Katelyn's, seeing nothing there that would drive her away.
With that strange mixture of terror and relief filling her stomach with butterflies, she could do nothing but follow her instincts. Eyes fluttering closed once more, she slowly angled her mouth towards Katelyn's, kissing her lips gently and carefully, not wanting to alarm or frighten her friend.
