omg an entry!
Wow, I used to be so good at knowing what to write in lj..well I guess that can be debated. Let's see..well, I am still currently trying to find a job in addition to the volunteer position at the psych lab on campus. I need money! It's really sad cuz at least half of what I have in my bank account now is going to next month's rent. So, maybe I'll have to resort to selling myself on the streets..hmm..jakay.
I was actually contemplating accepting a job at Camp Sonshine, where Patrice has worked for the past 5 years. She said if I took the job, I wouldn't regret it. But the thing is..she gets to be a counselor. With my schedule at the lab, the only thing they could offer me was working at the camp store, where the kids come and buy stuff during the day. I'm not sure how exciting that would be. Kids are cute and all, but I dunno bout getting up at 5:30 am everyday and working 12 hr days-not exactly my cup of tea. And on the days I'd get to work only from 7-2, I'd have to be at the lab at 3 until about 8..talk about draining..so yea. However, they would have paid me a set amount of $1340 i think it was (not that much), for the summer, provided lunch, dinner and some gas reimbursement. Even though those aspects could end up saving me money, I'm not sure the long hours would be worth it. And then I wouldn't be able to drop off and pick up Didi from work as often as I have. And the area around my house is not really safe for her to be walking home from the bus stop by herself--even during the day! We actually tried that already..
I really hope that I get the job at Ann Taylor in downtown silver spring. Although retail jobs aren't the most exciting, I'm desperate now, and it would be right next to where Didi works. I think my ego is still suffering from when she got hired at Macaroni Grill and I didn't. :-( Prolly b/c she has serving experience..or at least, that's what I try to tell myself..
Anyway, enough about my problems..I'm soo excited for my friend Mary (hi Mary!) and her engagement! Eeee! Congrats to you both! :-D
