Mid-July

The summer is passing by quickly. Friday evening we dined at my favorite resto, Dario's, though unfortunately that night it was even warmer back in the bar area where we ate than it was outside. A piping hot cauldron of vegetarian wild mushroom curry and a glass of Hoegaarden that made my nose drip like a faucet didn't help matters any. Later we drank a case of Warsteiners while watching 25th Hour, likely the cause of missing the Farmer's Market the next morning. Well, that and the rain.

We did, however, make it to the gym that afternoon before parting ways so I could attend to "cat duty" at my mom's house while Greg bought chicken breasts to grill out and a small cake for Mark's (47th?) birthday. Dinner was a great success, especially since Mark wasn't expecting anything special.

Sunday we had leftover chickens for breakfast before once again heading to the gym. Unlike Friday, it was such a pleasant day we walked the Keystone Trail all the way from Cass Street to Maple and back, a 3-4 mile roundtrip. Per usual on Sundays, we parted ways again to do our own separate stuff. I had "cat duty" and the annual family pizza party at Sortino's Pizza where the extended family, specifically my aunt Marijo, was getting on my nerves by asking where my boyfriend was and why he didn't want to come. I brushed it off but they have a point, though, since I'm there practically anytime someone in his family farts yet end up fulfilling many of my family obligations alone. As a result of staying up late doing laundry, ironing, mending, knitting and reading, I was super tired yesterday and went to bed earlier.

The next few days are busy: tonight a badly needed haircut, tomorrow the gym, Thursday Ann and I are seeing Lyle Lovett at Stir's, Friday night Greg, Mark and I are going to a Royals game and Saturday Greg is planning on preparing to paint his bedroom.

weekend, greg, family
