blame it on gravity

Yesterday after work we hauled ass to get downtown by 5:30 to see the Old 97's as advertised only to find out the show didn't start until 6:00. Still it was worth the wait to see the band in that cozy little setting. They only played about four songs including "Dance With Me", "Nineteen", and "The One", first and last off the new ablum. There were about 40 people there, we were about nine feet away, and the first in line to have my CD signed afterwards. Rhett Miller seemed very genuine and was really cute in person (even Greg thought so). He looked much younger than his 38 years. I said my favorite song is "Big Brown Eyes" and Greg said his is "Barrier Reef". They said they'd be playing both at the show that evening which unfortunately we didn't attend. Somehow this was even better.

Afterwards we dined at M's Pub. Greg ordered his usual Omaha Grill sandwich while I decided to try the M's Greek sandwich (ground turkey and walnuts on crustless wheat bread). Mine was a little bland but the Amstel Light tasted awesome. Greg had a great time (and so did I). We'll probably be on about this for days.
