Due to the big annual Berkshire-Hathaway hoopla this weekend and the unseasonably chilly weather, I wasn't sure if I'd make it to the first Farmer's Market or not. Then Greg's dad phoned at 8am sharp Saturday morning leaving a message that we was on his way over to help rebuild the steps to the attic, one of the many projects to be completed before the house sells. Apparently it didn't occur to him that Greg might not be home so I quick dropped him off and thus the decision was made for me.

So glad I went, so good to see all the regular vendors I missed all winter. Though there aren't many veggies yet I walked away with a jar of honey bbq sauce, a jar of hot garlic mustard, a bag of the best tomatoes on the planet, a crumb top apple pie, a bracelet for Katie's birthday and a little wooden racecar with a number "1" on the side for Noah's first birthday.

Afterwards while I got cleaned up, Greg cleaned up his house and we later made preparations together for our dinner party with Steve and Ann. The menu included a salad, French bread, Boursin, La Vache Qui Rit, sliced up tomatoes soaked in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, shrimp satay, baked lobster tails and one of Kelly's Berry Best apple pies purchased earlier that day at the Farmer's Market for dessert. The food was great, the conversation was great - all in all, a very memorable evening. I said I really loved their family and it wasn't just the wines talking, I really meant it.

Next morning, Greg's dad was to arrive by 10am so it was his turn to drop me home in advance this time (neither one of us likes our car parked outside overnight, you see). While he did manual labor and attended his niece Katie's birthday party, I ran some errands, went to the gym and attended my nephew Noah's first birthday party. There were the traditional photos taken of cake covering his entire face - so cute! Can't really say that everything is all peachy keen with my family, Jenni barely talks to me and I've no idea why - generally, she has all the warmth and personality of The Grinch and that was before she was pregnant. I try to smile a lot, make light conversation, let little digs slide and generally keep most thoughts to myself which has served me well around them for the most part. My dad didn't even show up for his only grandson's first birthday, attending a car show instead. It's kind of sad when I feel closer to and more comfortable around Greg's family than my own.

Last night, having finished season 3 of Lost, we started watching season 1 of Arrested Development borrowed from Amy. I think I'm gonna like it. Tonight we hit the gym.
