more with the lists

The last several years I've posted an end-of-the-year list of media read, bought, watched, etc. Traditionally that has included 30+ books and way less than half as many movies. Bruce and I didn't go to the theater but maybe once a year and even renting a movie was a well thoght out planned event. Obviously my life has changed. Greg is much more of a homebody and it's not uncommon to watch 1-2 movies per weekend, more around holidays, usually of the action variety. No wonder my ass has expanded. I've learned to be much more open-minded and go with the flow but in 2008, I'd like to be a much more productive member of society, participating rather than watching (and just wait til you see the rest of my resolutions!).

Highlights in books = Love is a Mix Tape and the last HP. Free as a Running Fox left to Greg by his deceased brother was also pretty darn good.

Highlights in film = Apocalypco and the superhero flicks (for Greg it'd probably be Casablanca and It's a Wonderful Life since he thought they'd be "sleepers"). Whether he knows it or not at this point, he's going to see more black and whites in 2008 (yes, another resolution!).

Highlights in music = I'm sorry Wilco and Springsteen but Tegan & Sara's The Con is the one that did it for me this year. And I've yet to listen to a couple very much ...

Highlights in concerts = For Greg it'd probably be BRMC (and even then we left early) but for me no one comes close to Wilco. And I've got the expensively framed concert poster to prove it.
