roll your own

No trouble getting to work this morning now that the streets are plowed.

This afternoon is the college graduation ceremony at Joslyn. Normally I'd like to wear a skirt or something nice but given conditions outside, I settled for black jeans and a mohair sweater instead.

I just checked the Nebraska Humane Society website for the first time in a long time trying to determine whether the gift shop sells gift certificates as I'd like to give one to Bruce for the dogs. I'm still not sure but I did discover that they are taking donated items ("Pawfect Auctions" ) to sell on eBay with the proceeds going back to the shelter. I've wanted to be rid of my black leather motorcycle jacket for a while now and don't mind giving it away so long as I know any money made would be helping homeless animals. It is the pawfect solution! Also, everytime you conduct a search using GoodSearch, one cent goes to the NHS. It doesn't sound like much but they've made over $500 so far this year. That buys a few pain patches.

I've been reading one of my recent Amazon purchases, Getting Lucky, and it's breaking my heart, making me miss my dogs, both Miranda & Greta and Megan & Muddy. My life doesn't feel 100% complete without a dog and a house to care for right now. I'm thinking to start volunteering at the shelter again in spring.

No firm plans for the weekend as has been the case lately. There's talk of playing pinball at the Crescent Moon this evening before watching It's a Wonderful Life which Greg has never seen. Tomorrow I'd like to hit the post office and perhaps Bed, Bath & Beyond. Greg received a package of Omaha Steaks as a gift from his sister Kelly and is bound and determined to grill them out rain, snow, sleet or hail. I wouldn't be surprised if we watched another movie. It'd be nice to work in a trip to the gym somewhere but I definitely need to visit Elaine and Lily at the hospital. Never a dull moment, really.
