Saw MPE off at the airport this morning. Emma didn’t want to leave and cried, much like I did upon leaving France all three times. My mom and I sat in a quiet corner of the airport for a while afterward racking up our garage debt until nearly chased out by security - "Do you ladies like dogs?". We decided to have breakfast at Harold’s to decompress but it was the usual comedy of errors - trying to find her car, trying to get back to mine, deciding where to meet so she could follow me. Finally, in exasperation I said it would be so much easier if she just knew how to get to there on her own. I think she took it as a challenge and did indeed find the way toute seule and was proud of the fact. Yay Mom!
Afterwards I ran about a zillion errands:
- post office for stamps
- bank (they treat you really nice when you deposit a large sum of $$)
- gas/car wash
- Walgreens (cigs)
- Target (photo album, blue ice, etc.)
- PetSmart (gift card for Muddy’s adoption anniversary)
- Wild Oats (chips, salsa & unexpected gifts for Emma & Lily)
- Hy-Vee (taco fixings for Sat. & some of dat new Miller Chill)
Back home for a couple hours to cool down and regroup. Off to Jazz on the Green very shortly - toute seule! Later I have a date with Harry Potter - fell asleep while reading last night and only up to p. 314.
