Bruce traded in the motorcycle for a little red
Honda scooter. Once I learn to ride it, I can be even more like J.D. from Scrubs! Don't laugh, it gets over 100 mpg.
Early this morning, he set out to 108th & Maple via MAT bus to pick it up from the dealership. Not having ridden public transportation for some 20-25 years, it was akin to a new experience. He called me at work afterwards to share his adventures, the funniest being a stop in Benson. Some guy with a lit cigarette dangling from his mouth stood on the curb waiting for the door to open. Instead, the driver kept right on rolling forcing the guy to toss his smoke and chase the bus down the street, fists waving in a cloud of diesel fumes.
I haven't heard from Greg since Monday but he emailed out of the blue today just to tell me again how much he loves his iPod. I've had mine exactly one month tomorrow and I feel the same, though sometimes it seems that I don't use it as much as I could/should. When Bruce is home, he's always listening to NPR or the local news and feels slighted if I wear it around him. When he's not home, it's just as easy to pop in a CD and keep my ears free. Driving a car with a CD player is still a novelty for me though I've been using the wireless device Greg gave me more frequently. Then there are times, like right now, that I prefer the quiet (aside from the occasional car alarm). Plus, I'm still spending a lot of time importing music. Current stats: 1987 songs, 19.08 GB free. It's amazing.
Here are my top ten most listened to so far:
- Dressed Up Like Nebraska ~ Josh Rouse
- Ride ~ Cary Brothers
- In the Sun ~ Joseph Arthur
- We Used to Be Friends ~ The Dandy Warhols
- Bohemian Like You ~ The Dandy Warhols
- Son of Sam ~ Elliott Smith
- You Wouldn't Like Me ~ Tegan & Sara
- Passenger Side ~ Wilco
- I'm Always in Love ~ Wilco
- I'm the Man Who Loves You ~ Wilco
Probably no surprise that it's heavy on the Wilco. Or the Dandys since I've been OD'ing on them in preparation for Greg's DiG! party tomorrow night. Hot diggity dog!
