We had a lot of fun in TN with Gwen and Kevin. Friday night, we got in kind of late and just hung out with everyone for a while. Saturday, Jason and I watched a movie with Dillon while my parents went with Gwen and Kevin to look at properties in the area (they're moving to TN in 2 years when Kevin retires). The only thing that sucked: Kim wanted to meet up for lunch and I couldn't b/c I had Dillon in tow. :P
Later, Dad pulled up and told me to grab the cat carrier and hurry and get in his truck. Someone had dumped a mother cat and her litter on the side of the raod down from my parents' house. We rescued all of them, though one of the little ones was half-wild and tore my right hand to shreds. It was swollen for days. We took 2 of the small kittens home, but one died as we were rushing her to the vet Monday morning. The other little one got lots of medicine and is doing great. Two others had to be put down due to illness, but at least they were loved on and fed for a weekend before they died. Mom still has an older kitten with her and is looking for a home for her. She's really healthy, and I wish we could take her. But she's older and I don't think Luke and Leia would stand for it.
Later that night, I got to catch up with some friends I've had since kindergarten, which was a lot of fun. I hadn't seen Danielle in 3 or 4 years, and I hadn't seen Cassondra in a couple of years. So catching up over coffee was a blast. Then we went over to Tanger to see Kim and ended up running into about five other poeple. Good times.
Sunday, we just had a cookout and hung out at the cabin until it was time for us to get the kittens ready and leave.
This week has been eventful just trying to get Luke and Leia adjusted to the kitten. Oh, and trying to get her to actually walk all the way over to the bathroom to go in her litter box (she really likes to go in the dining room for some reason). We were supposed to have a cookout tonight with one of Jason's former coworkers, but it looks like they won't be able to make it after all. So, who knows. Maybe we'll invite some other people over this weekend instead. And tomorrow...
Fantastic Four!!!
