Well, now that summer's here, it feels like life has taken off again. Last weekend, Hawes, Greg, Jeff, and Heather came to stay a couple of days. Jason and I had wanted to take everyone out to the park or up to the mountains, but our little storm (including hail) kept us inside for most of the day. We did manage to go out for lunch at this rockabilly bbq place that was pretty good. It was definitely good food for the decently cheap price. And even if it was unhealthy, at least it was real. :P
Greg will be here tomorrow night and stay through the weekend--he's got an interview with Intergraph on Friday. I know Jason *really* hopes he'll get the job and be able to move up here. Then on Tuesday we leave for Knoxville. Amanda's decided to hit up the Flyleaf show with us, so that'll be awesome. I haven't gotten to catch up with her in forever (aside from a few lengthy phone calls. But that's just not as much fun). I'm also supposed to be seeing Danielle & Cassondra (maybe for coffee?), Candace & Brandon, and Jana (going to stop by their new apartment on the way to the show). Plus, we're planning on running some errands at McKay/Planet XChange. So it looks like it'll be a busy couple of days! But busy is good after the frigging cold winter.
The first weekend in May will be spent in Columbus for Ashley's graduation. Then we'll stop by Jason's parents (for his dad's birthday) on our way back. Whew. After all of that, who knows. We always wind up being busy, so I'm sure more will come up. I think last summer we were home for a grand total of 3 weekends. And I'm just not doing that to the cats again this year.
Jason had hoped to be able to play the youth camp in SC again this summer, but he simply won't have enough vacation to be able to time the time off to go. Plus, we havem't had a honeymoon or a vacation, so we'd eventually like to be able to have some vacation days just for ourselves. So what all of that means is that Jason officially switches over to Intergraph on Monday! So now we have cheaper benefits, company matching for our 401(k), and a free state of the art gym. Woo hoo! We're contemplating the idea of getting up early and working out before Jason has to go into work. Ah, the best-laid plans of mice and men...
