"Well, Simon, what do you think of Severus?"
Yes, that's right; the monster cat you have seen before (he's my very own son) and the littler ball 'o' black is the stray Bran brought home two days ago and who I promptly christened Severus (for obvious, Harry Potter related, reasons). We were trying to find a home for him, and then we gave up, because our Basenji ignores him (which is really unusual for the breed, but Laddy is very, very old for a 'senji). So now Simon has a little brother/playmate/apprentice....thing.

"Simon hated TigerSpice, hated Augustina, hated Mischief (the last 3 strays who lived temporarily with us). What did they have in common? They were all little girls. Simon likes Severus. Severus is a little boy. I have a gay, pedophilic cat!"
(I'd always wondered at the unholy love Simon had for Laddin. Now, now I know. Gay cat.)
