Hello Livejournal...long time no see...

Is it possible that I've been so busy that coming back here was pushed to the back of my mind? Well, only partly true.
Tyler Grady.

I normally don't rant on about American Idol (at least, much) but this really irks me. Finally, there was a person who had amazing stage presence AND quite a voice.  God, what a voice.  True, his first time for us he chose the wrong song.  I mean, I love American Woman, and I thought he did great on it...but everyone who isn't obsessed with him and who hadn't heard him during the auditions needed to hear his voice, which is actually really, really good.  I would have waited one week to show us the moves again once we had been shown that he had a voice.
Anyway, Tyler Grady, swag and all, was voted off the first week.  This is such a shame because, once again, someone with an excellent voice and knack for the stage is gone.  He didn't leave without saying his opinions to the judges.  Usually, I think its tacky and all "just leave, you're quite done", but this time I can see his point and was glad that he stood up and said it.  Really, if they had thought that it would have been a problem, they should have mentioned it before.  Also, do they really know what America wants in music?  I'm American, and he's what I wanted in music.  Now, I don't have it.
Carol, I am beginning to side with you on this whole, American Idol  issue.  It is indeed, crap.  I actually voted for him.  I actually VOTED on American Idol...what is wrong with me?
No excuses, he didn't get enough votes, partly/mostly because of the wrong song.  But, man.

That being said, I have spent my time listening to his band's (Wailing Waters) three (fantastic) songs on the internet and have impressively stalked fan groups to get more information.  I'm hoping he'll come out with a CD, because I can actually hear him on the radio and think he would have a couple hits.  And because he's honest with his music.  I love knowing that if I went to a concert I would get the same passion, honesty and performance every time.  That's reassuring.

Honestly, I can't believe I devoted an entire entry to how miffed I am about Tyler Grady getting kicked off.  It may not look like a lot, but that's because I'm sparing you from how I normally rant about this topic.
I'm hoping that next time I log in, I won't be so irritated so I can maybe write something that Carol finds interesting.  ;)

For the record:  I almost quit watching the show after that moment.  But I am a fan of Alex.  He's good.  He might go near all-the-way.
