Okay, I promised someone details about my life in China. So here are some pictures of the place I live and also of Taishan, the mountain I went to for my break.
Teaching has also been getting pretty interesting lately. The kids are warming up to me and sometimes they're cute and funny, despite the fact that they are at *the age when they begin to notice strange changes with their bodies and mysterious feelings that make them feel confused and frustrated*, plus they're learning what it means to be "cool".
There's this one girl named Gamma who comes to chat with me everyday after lunch. She laughs at me whenever I try to speak Chinese. There's also a boy in one of my classes who gasps and says, "Wow," at almost everything I say, and especially when I show pictures.
Here's a short list of some of the priceless choices of English names some of my students have: Cabbage, Meteor, Shadow, Galbraith, Instant, Schumacher, Bobo, Windy, Calotine, Antarnes, Even, Villiams, Phat, and Alchy. They're good kids.
Keep in touch,
China MJM
