Chinese, happy typhoid pills, a long flight, and ball gropage

Today seems like a good enough day to update with random stuff as any. There have been a few bumps in the road, but things are going all right.

I just found a plane ticket to Shanghai (Pu Dong, haha) for $622. That's GOOD for a plane ticket to China. The flight will be 14.5 hours long... :-\ They'd better be showing some good movies on the plane. Ones not like "The Island." I like Scarlett Johansson AND Ewan McGregor, but that movie... *shakes fist*

I'm learning Chinese slowly this summer. I'm supposed to practice this Chinese tongue twister:

sì shí sì zhi shi zi
mén wài yõu sì shí sì zhi shi zi
bù zhi shì sì shí sì zhi s˜i shi zi
hái shì sì shí sì zhi shí shi zi

Forty-four lions.
There are forty-four lions outside.
Are they forty-four dead lions,
Or are they forty-four stone lions?

It sounds like "shh shh shh shh shh" with subtle differences between each shh sound. How do they do it?

I got a physical this morning. Fortunately, the doctor didn't have to grope me. I'm also taking a typhoid fever immunization. It's not a shot but a series of pills which are supposed to last longer than a shot. It's a live vaccine and on the pamphlet that came with the pills, there's a drawing of an exuberant pill just dancin' away. "I have deadly viruses in me!!" He's in my belly now.

Bethany is coming up to The State Capital; Home of Abraham Lincoln; Springfield, IL tomorrow afternoon for a business thang. I'm driving down to meet her and spend some QT. I'm really looking forward to it since I haven't really seen a good friend in a couple weeks now. My thoughts go out to her for having to spend the 7 hour drive with a strange man she hardly knows.

Addition: ALSO I got bootcamp to work on my laptop. I'm can now run Windows XP on my mac. I'm pretty excited about that.
