Well, I've been doing all right lately.
Friday, though, turned shitty real fast for a couple hours -- oh, at about 3:15. I was preparing to print off the fifth-year intern proposal I had been working on all week. Since I would have had to print it off at the library because my printer is out of ink, I dragged the file from desktop to the network drive and clicked “yes” to overwrite the file. It turned out that I hadn’t been working off the file on the desktop like I’d thought; instead, I had been working off the file on the network drive which I replaced. I tried a few things, but it was gone 45 minutes before it was due.
After acting like a panicked idiot in front of my professor while trying to explain the situation, I decided I had to go to the intern office to explain it to them and ask for an extension. The receptionist said if I turn it in Monday morning at 8am when they open, “maybe” it will be okay. Thanks, receptionist, maybe.
(Yes, I’m applying for a fifth-year internship. If it gets approved and I decide to do it, I’ll be working at the DePauw nature park developing the welcome center and designing programs to promote it as an outdoor education center. I’ll also be doing some research there myself and possibly doing some TA work. I have mixed feelings about it though, because it would mean another year in Greencastle.)
After that mishap I decided to treat myself to a new Playstation game. I’ve recently gotten into the game Katamari Damacy, which is ridiculously fun and hilarious, and since it isn’t that long of a game I wanted to get the sequel, We <3 Katamari. Yes, that’s a heart.
WAL-MART didn’t have the game I wanted. But THANK THE LORD they had a copy of… wait for it… okay, here it comes… no, wait again… The Bible Game.

So, I bought it.
Needless to say, that last statement is a lie.
Saturday made up for Friday by far, thankfully. Started off with a brunch with friends at the Monon, just like old times, then went with Shaney and Finley to Bloomington where we had Indian food, stopped at Borders for a couple hours, and then went to see Capote. I bought the cutest anime DVD, Pom Poko, with little mythological raccoons (tanuki) that oddly (Japanese-ly) are depicted with magical scrotums, or as they say “raccoon pouch”, which they can enlarge at will. I’m pleasantly surprised Disney actually imported it since many cultural aspects, the testicles as an example, don’t translate to western audiences. Capote was fantastic.
Today I met my parents at a restaurant on the border between Indiana and Illinois. It was nice. Now, I’m about ready to start rewriting my proposal. Joy.
