Some empty space
It's been a very long time since I wrote here, and I suspect that most readers who paid attention to what I wrote have long since moved on. I moved on too. In the empty space left by Heath's death I began to write my own fiction under my own name. I won a few competitions and got published here and there.

Ten years since my life was changed forever.

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN - THE OPERA
When it was first mentioned that Annie Proulx would be writing the libretto for an opera based on Brokeback Mountain I got pretty excited about how she would tackle it and what, if any, insights it might shed on the original story. I don't know what rush of blood to the head caused me to write this short piece. While Jack and Ennis are never far from my mind I haven't seriously written anything in a long time but, inspired by a throwaway line out of The Outland, I felt the urge to deal with one of the tragic aspects of Jack's life. MORE ABOUT WRITING
This post is a little bit scary to write because I prefer to hide behind my nom de plume, Wild Columbine. However, as I mentioned previously, in the real world I've finally taken a few steps in writing non-BBM fiction under my own name, with some success. HEATH & WRITING
Although I didn't make my customary entry here on my anniversary of first seeing Brokeback Mountain, 9th February 2006, a date which is now also associated with Heath's memorial service and cremation/ashes scattering (I don't know which) in Perth, I nevertheless thought about both those anniversaries when the day came, and marked them on the forum ( Read more... ) -
