I've left a few comments scattered here and there, but wanted to leave one for the main thread, too.

The Outland is one of the very best of our BBM fanfics, and it is a delight to read such sophisticated writing. I read it twice last night, stopping now and then the second time through to read selected sections to my spouse. I find some of your sentences to be gorgeous not just in context but in isolation. Some very, very fine writing going on here.

I actually dread when you finish this story, because you are likely to go back to canon writing then, aren't you? And I won't read dead!Jack or MovingOn!Ennis, so I might be deprived of the delights of your work. Sigh.

To use a Star Trek phrase, I grieve with thee over your renewed sorrow over Heath. Oddly enough, I've shared it, an unsurgence of grief and rage and incredulity that it happened. I think the upcoming premiere of the Batman movie has something to do with it, plus Anne Hathaway's comments about him in the Sunday Parade magazine, plus something else I read about him about a week ago.

Back to The Outland, just wanted to say that when I opened Brokebackslash and saw you had posted chapter ten, I literally exclaimed aloud: Oh, thank goodness! Because you left us at a tough spot in chapter nine. If this had been a completed novel, and I were staying up late to read it, and I had arrived at the end of chapter nine, I would have whooshed onward to chapter ten for sure, even if it were three forty-five in the morning! But, alas, the novel is not completed, and your readers had to wait. This episodic method of publishing is creating an interesting mindset in readers, I do believe, and might have rippling repercussions in the way we write and read in the future. But that's another discussion.

Thanks so much for continuing to write The Outland. Excellent, excellent work!
Love,
Jenna

Fascinating comments, Jenna. Yes, I suspect it will be back to canon after this, although I do branch out occasionally.

Thank you so much for your support for my story. Much appreciated.
