The days they bleed together

My friend Amir was taken to the hospital Wednesday night in Tehran and we still haven't heard anything from him or the 2 people who took him there. (It's Saturday morning there.)

Video from the 24th of June. You will need to confirm your birth date, parts of it show dying/dead people.

People have started bringing home made clubs with them into the streets as the Basiji and the police have become so violent.

Here is a letter from a hospital in Tehran:

Date: Wednesday 24th June 2009

The following email in Farsi we received today (Wednesday 24th june). It is written by a doctor from “Rasul Akram” hospital in Tehran who says that some people were killed not only by one bullet as they found two or three bullets in some bodies, close to one another, showing that shooters used barrage shooting against people and not only a single shot. A 68 year old man had 3 bullets in his body, two on his left shoulder and one in the left side of his stomach. The doctors of the “Rasul Akram”hospital say they had been faced with 38 people killed during last week’s protests. Apparently, police took the corpse of the dead bodies out from the hospital and carried them away by truck. Most of their families still do not know if their children have been killed. Besides, among the corpse there were some 15, 16 years old kids.

According to the email, the crew of the hospital protested in the street next to the hospital giving out the information about the violence to the people. The photos attached are from this demonstration which appears to have taken place earlier this week.

Here's a pretty long chunk of footage where you can just see what it's like on the streets there. It's nice to see the protesters chasing off the police.

A letter from a 17-year old boy tortured by the government.

The pictures you are about to see are not from someone who supports anarchy, he is not even a part of the "DUST" that Ahmadinejad called his opponents. He is just a 17-year-old boy who was supposed to take the university entrance exam within a month before his fingers were broken and the finger webs were cut with a blade. He was arrested violently in the parking lot of a living complex without even taking part in any of the recent activities, and after more than 24 hours he returned home while his face was fully covered with blood and one could only see his eyes. These pictures are taken hours after his return home, his bruised face and broken nose cannot be shown due to his and his parents fear from the security guards. This is a summary of his story:

A candlelight vigil held at Tehran University yesterday.

Over at Tehran Bureau an uplifting letter from a protester & street medic:
But they made a fatal miscalculation; they underestimated the people.

I hear that the chanting continues on strongly every night. Allah o akbar. Well anyway, I've had a right shitty week and barring any more computer problems I will get back to updating almost daily.

Oh yeah, apparently people haven't seen this (weird that it *just now* started circulating around twitter, but these things take time):
