I don't think anyone will believe that this has been in the making for over two years.
To be honest, these are my rankings from that time - two years ago this is what my Top Ten Girl Crush list looked like. And although my Top Five Girls have most likely remained unchanged, my bottom five might have either shifted or given way to other newcomers.
But I am too lazy and afraid to "change the world order", and have decided to finally post this.
So without further ado (and much procrastination), my Top Ten Girl Crushes!
10. Hilary Swank
I fell in-love with Hilary Swank through the screen as opposed to listening to her in interviews.
I pride myself in being a feminist, and I don't think there are too many actresses out there who have this body of
work of such strong women. "Million Dollar Baby", "Iron Jawed Angels", "Amelia". I can't help but love her for those.
And, of course, she's a fantastic actress - definitely giving those roles the justice they deserve!
9. Kristin Chenoweth
I'm not a musical theater buff so it wasn't her part in "Wicked" that made her my girl crush (though I am
absolutely dying to watch that musical because of her).
I guess my girl crush developed watching her as Olive Snook in "Pushing Daisies".
She's funny, and cute and just plain adorable. Her voice is beautiful, and she has
such a great sense of humor. I LOVE her rendition of "If You Hadn't But You Did".
And when she was on "Glee" during the first season, I couldn't help but smile when she threatened Rachel.
8. Hilary Duff
Hilary was my first serious girl crush back from the "Lizzie McGuire" days, and I guess I never let her go.
Her "Metamorphosis" CD was my first CD obsession.
I love that she is part of charities (saving animals!) and I caught her "Gossip Girl" appearance which I really
wouldn't do for anyone.
She grew up well... unlike those other girl crushes I've had during middle school.
And I hate to be shallow, but she's absolutely beautiful =).
7. Jennifer Connelly
I saw her for the first time time in "He's Just Not That Into You" and was not impressed, mostly because that movie sucked.
But then I saw "Little Children" and "Requiem for a Dream" and that's when I knew that not only was this girl beautiful, but she had so much talent.
During my "Jennifer Connelly" phase, I even watched "Dark City". And watching a sci-fi film just to see an actress I like in it is unheard of with me (because it is not my genre).
And after a background check, I found out that she was a vegetarian for most of her life which definitely gave her
bonus points.
Also, a point of interest - Jennifer Connelly wasn't on my original list but I began crushing pretty hard which
guaranteed her a spot on the list - pushing someone who was previously on the list off of it.
6. Rita Hayworth
· I wish I had more golden girls on the list but for some reason, Rita Hayworth is the only one
who made the cut (albeit my great love for Grace Kelly).
I haven't seen too many movies with Rita Hayworth, but that guitar scene in "Gilda" where she sings the
acoustic rendition of "Put the Blame on Mame" captured my heart and had me mesmerized.
I researched Femme Fatales of the 1940s Film Noir in my Senior Year of high school, and Hayworth was definitely one of my favorites.
5. Meryl Streep
· To put it simply - She's Meryl Streep!
But I guess more than one sentence is necessary. haha.
She can do everything; and she can do it flawlessly.
She's an incredible actress yet doesn't mind taking the goofy roles every once in a while.
I do kind of wish she'd do another hard-hitting drama that will challenge her again so she could get her third Oscar!
Also, whenever you catch interviews with her, you can just tell that not only is she extremely likable on-camera, but she is such an amazing person off it, too.
4. Marion Cotillard
· I pretty much fell for her during her speech at the Oscars: "It is true. There are angels in this city!"
I had no idea who she was and never heard her name (or saw any of her movies), but she got me right there.
So after that whole "love at first speech", I actually started watching some of her movies. And WOW!
She has this shy demeanor, especially during interviews in English (where she is so sweet regardless)!
But then performance-wise she just kills it. She surprises me time and time again. I remember watching "Nine"
and not knowing what to expect - and she just had me smiling. She was absolutely phenomenal.
She is so talented and man, can she sing!
3. Kate Winslet
· As my friend said, "Kate Winslet is a woman to love".
For me, she embodies the Golden Hollywood of the past and reminds me that there is still
pure talent out there. She is talented and beautiful, and doesn't care to laugh out loud.
I love that she can play comic roles like in "The Holiday" and still hit it out of the park in films like
"The Reader". She's got so much spunk and seems like an all-around great person.

2. Bethany Joy Galeotti
Where do I begin explaining a love affair that has lasted so many years?
She has completely different views than my own (I'm an athiest, and she very connected to God; she's a
Republican and I a Democrat) but even if we are complete opposites, her defining quality and the reason I love
her so much is because she's real. She's not plastic, and she doesn't try to be. She has always been different,
and I absolutely love that. I love that she adheres to her owen values and does not lose herself in the shallow industry
that is so hard to grow up in. I love that she doesn't shove herself down people's throats by being everywhere, and instead
keeps to herself.
She is such an amazing talent, and I sincerely believe that if she wanted to, she could become an A-list actress (in
the sense of performance, and not tabloids). If she ever does decide to take the movie-route, seeing her on the
big screen would be a dream come true for me.
Her voice is the only thing that can sooth me when I'm at my lowest, or the only one I want to rock to when I'm loving life.
She has been my role model for many of my adolescent years, and I couldn't have asked for a better one.
1. Angelina Jolie
· Whenever I mention that I love Angelina, those who don't respond in one of two ways - 1) I'm Team Jen, and 2) She's a Home-Wrecker
I guess it's important for me to begin with the hate and progress to the love.
As far as I'm concerned, we never know what really happens in the lives of celebrities. No one came out and said anything
in regards to this scandel. Also, just because you like one celebrity doesn't mean you have to hate another. Honestly, I have
nothing against Jennifer Aniston and wish her well.
Those who think Angelina hasn't any talent, obviously haven't seen her hard-hitting dramas. So please watch "Girl, Interrupted", "Changeling" and "Gia" before you talk to me. Because she is truly incredible. If you say she doesn't then you have
obviously only seen her blockbuster successes.
And now I'll stop defending her (which, I'm afraid, is the life of an Angelina fan), and will say why I truly love her.
Her work with refugees as an humanitarian is inspiring. She doesn't send a big check from her Hollywood home,
and instead actually goes to refugee camps and speaks to the refugees. She goes to areas of conflict, no matter
how dangerous, and tries to help as best she can.
She shows me that you can have a career, be a humanitarian (caring citizen of the world) and still see yourself
first and foremost as a mother (which is great for me as a feminist who would like to have it all).
She's a source of inspiration for me and her strong character makes me proud to call her my role model.
