social reclusion takes over

Well, folks, the moment arrived. Yesterday, one of my roommates successfully broke down all my barriers and convinced me to join MySpace. Livejournal is cool. It's conversation. It's mind probing. MySpace, like Friendster and FaceBook, is not so. In fact it is utterly ridiculous. I was holding out for a good long while because I knew once I joined I'd never EVER leave my computer and become so pathetically addicted that I'd lose a fair amount of self-esteem every day I didn't receive a request to be someone's friend. I don't think I'll have this problem after all because today I received two requests. One was from a 28-year-old man named Andy who is a self proclaimed "hot shot" and whose entire photo gallery consists of pictures of himself sitting in racing cars. The other is from a 34-year-old man named Ken who lives in New Jersey and loves jazz. I denied these requests.
