End of (school) year update
Ill start my fourth year at Taylor Communications next month. My hammered dulcimer is coming along. Very active with the Corydon Dulcimer Society. I take part in most gigs.
Jackie Armstrong is MIA because Dennis is going downhill, but Susan White still comes, Marilyn Craig, Dave Craig, Allan Rushing (Emily), Gene Lacy now president, Sherrill Wolfe, Terri Melton, Connie Dorgay & Gerry Neely (met at KMW WINTER 2017) all regulars. Occasionally see Tony Baker, who gave me an HD book, John Florence, Marie Brennan (sold G a harp last year), new members Lily Shireman (Ben and Mandy), Evelyn Hunter, Debe Hennessy (my student!), Dathan Utz, two appearances by John Utz. Had a gig at the Unitarian church this year a week before St Patricks Day. Gigs at LM Sugarbush in New Boston IN, Mark Elrod tower, masonic lodge, tomorrow third (for me) annual picnic at Spring Mill St Pk, third retreat this past January (didn't play first, played flute and MD in second, played HD in third). Corydon On the Square, although I need a more old-time dress.
Right now I'm practicing Winter from The Four Seasons. I used IMSLP to read the original vivaldi score in Eb, typed it into MuseScore, then combined two or three instruments into one hammered dulcimer part, and transposed down to key of D. Scored the melody for Bb clarinet, I hope Lucy Hickerson is game. Otherwise I'll ask Chris Bachmann to play it.
Third year at Evart this July. First with new tablet.
We're seeing a financial advisor a bit more regularly now. Gotta get our retirement ducks lined up. G becoming disabled but earns most of the income. Maybe next year can be half days.
SW now living at home (with Holly) after a blowup with his roommate. Took forever to look for a job, took the first one he found (Valvoline). He's learning about cars.
