one of the best things about winter at bryn mawr? the emails we get
when the national weather service puts out a winter storm warning. the
one we got this morning could be recapped as follows:
subject: when snow ATTACKS! lock your car and run for the hills girls!
dear bryn mawr community,
as you may or may not know, the snow terror alert level HAS BEEN RAISED TO WHITE FLOUR
i repeat: WHITE FLOUR.
we know the memories of the great blizzard of '02 are still echoing throughout your brain. all those hours of library time lost. we know. we know. but its going to be alright, girls.
still, this is very very serious, and we are thus warning you to get your cars the fuck off of campus before something really bad happens. like they get snowed on. we could all be buried under 3-7 inches of snow for literally 10's of hours.
the president of the college will be in her office later to field calls from dorm presidents concerning the coming onslaught.
hours are as follows:
batten/brecon/glenmede: 12-2pm - we know youre concerned about distance to the dining halls, as always "just grab a friend and try to make it"
denbigh/erdman/merion/radnor: 2-4pm
rhoads/rockefeller/pem east/pem west: 4-6pm
in this trying time, remember that we are not mere women, we are mawrtyrs and we will not let this "natural phenomenon" effect the way we live our lives. united we stand, divided we fall.
try not to panic, and remember: the force is with you.
