Hate to showcase my ongoing brony-ness again (since it seems to annoy a lot of furries for some dumb reason) but check this video out!!!
Here's the description from the
video's webpage:
Double Rainboom is a Senior film written, directed, & produced by FlamingoRich (Zachary Rich) for his college curriculum - and it is the first-ever fan-made episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Through the combined efforts of bronies across the internet and other students from the Savannah College of Art & Design - the episode will feature a full orchestral score, studio-quality sound effects, voice actresses for the ponies, and 100% show-accurate animation.

They did an outstanding effort for a first try... the animation is amazing. After the opening you'll think you're watching the real thing. But I did find fault with the directing. The sluggish pacing, especially for the first 10 minutes (with too much talk and not enough action) and the poor timing of some reaction shots and gag scenes that should have been done quicker shows me this is someone's first try at writing and directing. It really needed tighter editing to be better, maybe 5-to-7 minutes removed to move the pace along and make the gags funnier
Despite it's many flaws "Double Rainbow" raises the bar for fan-made MLP flash animation far higher than anything else I've seen so far. I hope it will inspire other fans and animators to try to better it. It's amazing to me that fans are creating studio quality cartoons at home now. That's something that has never happened in any cartoon fandom before.
And if you still hate those damn ponies and dont want to watch the whole thing... BUT If you really REALLY LOVE 90's Cartoon shows - just fast forward to 17:05 and watch the rest of it!
