Can't seem to stop going off on tangents, meant to be tidying and about to run off too but had to post drabbles >< For I_want_to

The one Time Xander blew up Angel. and The one time Lindsey used his evil hand for good.

The one Time Xander blew up Angel.

He didn’t mean too, much as he disliked the brooding Vampire, much as Angel grated on his last nerve. Perfect skin, perfect smile, perfect everything…minus the sunlight issue and having to drink blood but knowing Angel, he’d probably find a way round that soon enough. Probably use the ring Buffy had sent him to do so.

So Xander had exaggerated a little; he did remember basic training, did remember just how to put a sniper rifle together in under thirty seconds, had a lot more general knowledge floating aimlessly around in his mind then he’d normal admit too. So what if most of it was left over courtesy of Hellmouthy mind trips and possessions. One thing Xander would emphatically swear too, was that he had never told Angel he knew how to use a rocket launcher, only that he’d helped Buffy use one once. Incidentally that time hadn’t gone too well for Angel either, if Xander remembered rightly though he wasn’t sure it counted since it was Angelus, not Angel, they were aiming at.

None of the babble he was spouting was quelling the murderous look in Angel’s eyes through, as he heaved himself blooded and battered out from under the rubble which had been a crypt, the demon they’d actually been aiming at long gone--unable to stop laughing and distracted from its merry mayhem though not in the manner any had expected. Backing up Xander wasn’t sure just how closer to becoming Angelus, Angel would become as the spent launcher fell from his hands and Angel’s fingers curled in his shirt jerking him closer.

The one time Lindsey used his evil hand for good.

He could claim the first time he used his evil hand for good was when he punched Angel square in the jaw, knuckles splitting and jarring just enough to smart but not enough to cloud the malicious pleasure he felt at doing so.

The second Lindsey would say was before he took fully to the road, when he ran into one of Angel’s groupies and used both his voice and fingers for seduction. That had filled him with the smuggest of satisfactions especially when he got to walk away, laving them uncertain and worried.

But the real time, the first time, Lindsey used his evil hand for good was when he was well on the road to making himself another life. When enjoying the first hot, and not lukewarm, meal he’d had in a while. It had taken him a moment to register the rasping sound, to place and recognize it, even as the woman shrieked, her food flying everywhere. It could have been chaos, could have been a bad outcome all round but Lindsey never was one to panic, instead he’d pulled the child up and over his knee, his hand slapping against it’s back with less force than he was used to.

Just a few slaps and the child was coughing, foreign object expelled, crying only a moment later but gulping in breathing gasps at the same time. The mother had all but ripped it from Lindsey’s arms, babbling thank you’s as she cradled it close, never once giving Lindsey a moment to see if it was a boy or girl.

He didn’t wait for more, just left quietly and slipped into shadows.
