Authors Note: HOLY SHIT. I just got this posted up here before I saw the new manly Yunho hair pictures. Cannot function. I'm sorry~ I was going to write a meaningful note here but then my brain got scrambled. Basically, I started writing this a few days ago to try and get my brain back into the habit of writing so that it wouldn't be rusty for my main ongoing fic. This oneshot is set at current times, thanks to JJ's twitter lol. Hope it is okay. ^^

I FOUND YOU
Lone footsteps echoed along the mostly deserted foyer. The smooth expanse of floor leading up to the elevator was still clean and shiny, its meticulously polished tiles unaffected by the many shoes passing across it throughout the day.

There was no real sign in the building of any nightlife, unlike the activities currently going on outside. The building’s walls appeared to shut it all out. It was a Monday night and the residents in this apartment building were either returning home late from their jobs or already bundled up inside their rooms, trying to scrape up some time for themselves before their busy work day started all over again.

The clanking of boots stopped, waiting patiently for the elevator doors to open. Stepping into the elevator, Yunho’s hand rose to fiddle with his hat. There was no one else in the elevator that he needed to hide from; it was merely a nervous habit to slip his hat down over his face in case somebody recognized him such tight confines.

His should bag rustled as it rubbed against his jacket. Digging through it, he pulled out the piece of cardboard where scribbled numerals listed an entry code. He’d need to punch in the right number combination just in case the man behind the apartment door was absent or unable to open up for him.

Gravity settled down and the elevator doors slid open. Not bothering with the intercom, Yunho let himself in and closed the apartment door behind him. Familiar clutter surrounded him and triggered a small smile.

The man who owned this apartment had been busy lately-seemingly too busy to clean up after himself. Frequent flights overseas triggered frantic packing and unpacking of luggage. As a result, a lot of the singer’s clothes had been left around the house, abandoned on the backs of chairs or hidden in random niches.

Yunho was a little surprised that the clothes hadn’t been treated with more care, but his lover did have a lot of them. Rather than disrespect, the clothing explosion hinted at more of an organized chaos to Yunho.

“JaeJoongie?” he called out with a smile.

Wherever the shorter man was, he wasn’t in hearing distance. The little imp was around through-the wooden Venetian blinds had been closed, shutting moonlight out and instead trapping in the artificial light of several lamps.

The rooms may have been lit up but the owner was still nowhere in sight.

Yunho slipped his shoulder bag over his head and dumped it onto the couch in the main room. He let out a sigh and looked around. At first glance the apartment appeared to be full of JaeJoong’s things. It took a second look to spot the much-loved artifacts that belonged to Yunho mixed in around the rooms. And that was very much the nature of their relationship in public as well-it took two glances to really notice what was right under people’s noses.

Yunho didn’t have any rights to the apartment, nor did he live there, but it was beginning to become his new home. The amount of time he got to spend in there was increasing. Things had been a little tough in the past and JaeJoong had packed his things up and left the communal place they had been living in for a while. Yunho had stayed there, finding it convenient for his work but it lacked the appeal it once had for Yunho once JaeJoong and the two other men moved out.

Now that his lover had settled into a new apartment, Yunho was finding less and less excuses to stay at his old place. He switched between the two, trying to readjust and create a new home for himself that suited the changes in his life. At first it had made him feel a bit like a nomad. JaeJoong’s apartment wasn’t quite his home yet, but he knew that in time it would be. More of his junk would start filling up the shelves, battling with JaeJoong’s to grab a spot.

Yunho stopped outside the only closed door in the apartment and put his ear against the cold wood. The workroom was silent. Not even the rustle of a sheet of paper being turned could be heard. JaeJoong was probably at his computer with his headphones on. Yunho could picture it perfectly-JaeJoong leaning back in his chair, eyes closed and ears soaking up the melody he was trying to recreate from the raw creation trapped inside of his mind.

Yunho’s hand lingered near the doorknob. He was dying to catch a glimpse of the man who owned his heart, but interrupting the man when he was in the middle of communicating and bargaining with his soul was something Yunho wasn’t sure he could do. Besides, if it wasn’t going so well, JaeJoong would probably lash out at Yunho. And that would suck.

His selfishness won. Yunho silently laughed at his pathetic level of restraint as he turned the doorknob. The door was pushed aside and he was finally able to come face-to-face with his lover. Or maybe not…

The smile on Yunho’s face slowly grew with each step he took forward. JaeJoong’s Mac glowed over the two sleeping figures on the large desk. JaeJoong had passed out over his lyric notebook, and by the looks of things, had been like that for quite some time.

What really made the whole scene hilarious was Jiji. JaeJoong’s newly owned kitten was napping next to him on the desk, his tiny body smooshed between the keyboard, the mouse and the sound mixer. Both daddy and kitten were fast asleep together and the sight was almost too cute for Yunho to handle. He couldn’t even figure out who was cuter in that moment.

Jiji’s paw lay bent against the dark desk in what looked like a deceivingly uncomfortable position. Yet the shorthaired kitten was perfectly content. JaeJoong’s paw, on the other hand, was curled loosely over his pencil and resting close to his face.

Yunho couldn’t help the overwhelming gush of love he felt over seeing the two like that. He honestly couldn’t even tell who was imitating who anymore. Had the kitten started napping first or had his owner?

Trying not to disturb the exhausted singer, Yunho bent down and tried to read the crossed out mess scrawled over the paper JaeJoong was sleeping on. He bit his lip to stop another smile from sprouting. Trust JaeJoong to give up in the middle of writing his lyrics and frustrate himself to the point of slumber. His brain had clearly shut down in protest.

A few photos were taken as quickly as possible before Yunho slipped his camera phone back into his pocket. He was at a loss of what to do. He could go and change out of his clothes and into pajamas, leaving more time for JaeJoong to nap, but…well, he didn’t have any pajamas to change into because he didn’t need to wear them at JaeJoong’s apartment.

Hating JaeJoong ever so slightly for turning him into the bad guy, Yunho bent to kiss his forehead and gently nudged him awake. A soft groan was emitted and his paw slowly uncurled. The pencil rolled onto the notebook with a short clang.

Yunho left JaeJoong to get his bearings back and step out of the delirium his half-asleep brain was in. He knelt by the office chair and gazed at the large computer screen for a long moment. He then had the difficult task of moving the mouse around without disturbing Jiji. Beside him, JaeJoong sat up, still half asleep, and watched Yunho do all the hard work.

Yunho carefully saved JaeJoong’s work and closed all of the tabs.

He had just prompted the Mac to turn itself off when the figure beside him suddenly moved in the oddest way. He turned just in time to see JaeJoong’s head drifting downwards before jerking back up in a sharp change of motion. His body was slowly slumping towards Yunho and Yunho was amazed JaeJoong hadn’t managed to slip out of the chair completely.

The head bobbing continued for a few more minutes and Yunho lost complete track of the time. He just couldn’t tear himself away from the sight of JaeJoong dozing at such an awkward angle and yet still not quite waking up despite the amount of times his head would try to realign itself. Maybe after this head jerk he’ll wake up. Maybe after that one…

He bit his lip and tried to hold back the laughter stirring within him. If JaeJoong caught him laughing, he’d lash out at him out of embarrassment. Yunho couldn’t help it though; it was damn funny. And was that a…

Yunho leaned closer to JaeJoong’s face and a chortle flew past his lips. Across JaeJoong’s forehead was the faintest red line of horizontal marks denting his skin, the perfect replica of the notebook’s spine. There was even a small patch of pencil smudge across his cheek.

Laughter flowed freely now and a hand flew up to cover his mouth. Jiji cracked an eye open at the sudden noise and then disregarded his owner and his partner-in-crime, favouring sleep over their strange antics.

“Come on, sweetheart.” Yunho grinned once JaeJoong slowly opened his eyes again. He then gently brushed a thumb over the drowsy man’s cheek.

“Hrrruh.”

Yunho assumed that was supposed to be a greeting but he couldn’t be sure. “Bed?”

JaeJoong gazed at Yunho from under hooded eyes and then shook his head briefly.

“No? You don’t want to go to bed?”

JaeJoong nodded clumsily.

“You do want to go to bed?”

Another strange dip of the head that semi-resembled a nod.

“Then why did you shake your head at me before?”

JaeJoong just gazed blankly at his partner.

“Oh right. You don’t have a working brain right now,” Yunho laughed. “Come on then. Up you get.”

JaeJoong’s arms slipped around Yunho’s shoulders and the taller man snuck his arm under JaeJoong’s knees and hoisted him up sideways. For a brief moment Yunho was reminded of the tiring filming for Dangerous Love. Their shy yet eager interaction seemed so long ago now. They had been mere boys then despite the age of twenty. How things had developed between them since then…

Yunho bent his head to lay a lingering kiss on JaeJoong’s forehead. His skin was warm beneath Yunho’s lips, a pleasant mixture of natural body temperature and the heat absorbed from dozing in front of his Mac for so long.

Yunho lowered the man onto the mattress. He was rather relieved that the hallway light sneaking into the room meant he could see where he was going.

JaeJoong murmured something in a language Yunho couldn’t quite decipher as he felt his body sink into the soft mattress.

“Pardon, baby?”

”’Mm happy.”

“You’re happy?” Yunho reached down to turn the lamp on.

“Yes. You’re here.”

Yunho sat down onto the bed beside him and smiled. “It’s only been two days.”

“Yes, but you had to focus on Goong. So I couldn’t talk to you as often. I’m glad the last show went okay.”

Yunho nodded. “Yeah, it’s going to be a bit odd not performing as that character anymore.”

A cheeky smile grew on JaeJoong’s face. “You’ll always be my prince.”

Yunho couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “I could kind of see that remark coming, but glad it did anyway.”

Yunho’s head tilted slightly as his studied his quiet partner. JaeJoong was staring at him in the most endearing way. He said nothing but stared back, unwilling to break the peaceful silence that was captivating the both of them at that moment.

“I’m really proud of you.”

“Hmm?” Yunho murmured.

“I mean it. This morning my sister linked me to a video of you on the internet. A fan had filmed you from the audience of Goong. I watched it a few times. You were just…wow. I was like: God, that’s my man…”

JaeJoong gave compliments more often than Yunho did but each and every time he praised Yunho, Yunho’s heart would still do a little bounce of glee. Now was no different. His cheeks heated up a bit and he grappled around for the right response. Words failed him. Instead, he leant forward and pulled JaeJoong into a slow kiss.

The sudden patter of small and frenzied footsteps down the hallway gave both men a shock. Their lips slid apart just as the noise vanished, leaving nothing but a mild echo behind.

“There goes Jiji,” Yunho chuckled. “Could he scamper past our room any faster?”

“My baby’s smart,” JaeJoong grinned. “He already knows that when you’re here, it’s pointless for him to even bother coming in to get attention or beg for food.”

Yunho laughed again and slowly shook his head. “Sometimes I really do forget he’s here now and almost trip over him.”

“Dumbie.” JaeJoong laughed and dodged the smack that came his way.

They kissed again for a few more minutes before Yunho got up to turn all the light in the apartment off. When he returned, JaeJoong had already obediently undressed and crawled under the bed covers.

He left the bedroom door open ajar a few inches and started to strip off as well. JaeJoong watched on from the bed, his eyes barely blinking and never straying from Yunho’s body. He was still too tired for anything frisky, but that certainly didn’t stop him from looking at his partner’s superb figure. A naked Yunho was a sight to behold. Every limb was appealing and shaped with care. His skin shone a golden brown in the lamplight. He was reminded of honey and tried not to salivate.

Yunho pulled the covers up and slipped beneath them. His partner’s staring did not go unnoticed and Yunho smiled to himself. He switched the lamp off, which elicited a soft grunt of disapproval from the man beside him.

“You need to sleep,” Yunho reprimanded. “You three have been touring overseas a lot and I know how that causes you insomnia. Now that you’re back home you need to be kind to your body.”

“Yes, yes,” JaeJoong grumbled.

Yunho reached out to flick the singer’s nose.

The bed shifted as JaeJoong rolled onto his side and molded his body against Yunho’s. Yunho’s body shivered as JaeJoong’s foot gently ran up his leg. The shorter man was such a tease.

Yunho pulled JaeJoong closer to him. His hand rested possessively over JaeJoong’s back. His thumb swiped across the smooth flesh, back and forth until he heard the singer let out a soft mewl like his little kitten.

How could Yunho ever afford to sleep away from this man for any more than two nights? It was no wonder he had already unofficially moved in.

“I love you…”

JaeJoong’s words were so quiet they almost blended into the room’s silence. They might have even been missed altogether if the singer’s breath hadn’t heated up Yunho’s collarbone.

“I love you too, baby.”

“And you’re going to be mine forever.”

“Forever,” Yunho agreed.

“And ever and ever…” The sleepy murmur barely even tickled Yunho’s skin this time. JaeJoong’s energy was dwindling. He was able to sleep properly now that his cherished man was beside him.

Yunho let his head rest against JaeJoong’s. The shorter man’s scent engulfed his senses and his eyes slipped shut as well.

Smiling, Yunho continue to breathe at ease. He wasn’t quite ready to fall asleep just yet. He was content enough just to hold JaeJoong in his arms for a little longer.

He was going to be with this man for ever and ever. And ever. He was certain of it. More than certain-he was determined. His life so far had been an exhausting mixture of distress and elation and yet he had managed to endure it all with this man by his side. Sometimes JaeJoong, himself, was the cause of Yunho’s stress but he welcomed it because without JaeJoong in his life, he didn’t feel like he was properly living. It was far better to feel something than nothing at all. It was simply easier to breathe with JaeJoong around. His chest didn’t hurt and the effort to let his lungs expand wasn’t too taxing.

Out of the billions of people living in the world, Yunho had found JaeJoong. And for that, life was a miracle.
