Bill, I think there are several fitness related LJ groups. I don't belong to them, but seedmoon does. Check out his user info page and scan his groups memberships.
Ah, well, a few of us have committed to post something on a filter for those interested. We just note that we actually did work out the way we planned. It's just something to keep us accountable.
and I have just added you to this filter. I also have others that are on it. It's either other folks I know that are also committing to exercise regularly, or folks that I know are concerned about my general well-being. For them, it's a bit of a peace of mind service.

I'm still trying to get myself on the regular BS group but don't seem to be able to pull it off.
I'm one of the BS people that has a fitness filter but of late my life has been dominated by other things so I haven't been posting in it. That will change soon hopefully. In the last week I've gotten myself into the gym in the mornings before work on an every other day cycle. (except for this morning which threw off my pattern) I'm not a morning person but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

To make filters, look up Custome Friends Groups, that should show you how to select people from your friends list to sort them into different filters.
Oh, and a person can be on more than one.
