[It's early spring when Prussia finally finds herself willing to brave the outdoors again. Not that she's been holed up all winter mind you, but during the winter being outside is a means of getting from point A to point B; now she can finally enjoy being outside just for the sake of being outside. It's still a bit nippy, the last remaining signs ( Read more... )

[If she thinks she's wandered far from home, it's nothing to how much this little thing has managed to stray. Then again he's both used to walking a long way and prone to getting lost...but finding himself 800 years in the future is a bit much even for him. He must have passed through the meme, but he doesn't really notice, because he's still in a field- and as far as he's concerned, fields are totally normal.

Dressed warmly enough to be unconcerned by the chill, he's cheerfully rolling in a patch of daisies. Or...lying in them and occasionally flopping over a little. He's a sleepy child. But he's also an alert child, being used to the rough and tumble of his time, and his ears prick up at the intrusion to the field. Sitting up, he watches the figure in the distance; a lady, judging by the hair, but not really the sort of lady he's used to. So he just...waits.]

[Unfortunately while the girls might be more rough and ready to tumble than their male counterparts all the European nations have become quite lulled by peace over time. Especially miss half a country here. So she's no where near as alert as him, in fact she has no idea anyone else is around because he's far enough away from her. Which is just as well because she's started talking to Ossi as the little bunny sniffs at some flowers and grass.]

Now be careful what you graze on silly bunny. Mutti isn't going to be happy if you make yourself sick. We're only gonna be here for a few hours okay? Then maybe West will be home and make us some carrot cake. Doesn't that sound awesome?

[And in his future, he'll know that all too well, but this is almost primordial Austria, just barely a state at all, fresh from being a March. This is the most aware and yet innocent he could be. So while he's watching her carefully, he's not frightened or concerned at all.

...Especially when her voice carries so clearly, and she's obviously talking to a rabbit...ooh, rabbit. Up he gets, trying to see over there without going closer. He's not afraid, but he's a little shy.]

[He'll have a hard time seeing unfortunately because Ossi is just as shy as little Austria himself. She's not quite ready to hop very far from Prussia and even sitting she's quite tall enough to block his view of her. Which is too bad for him because while she's not hopping quite yet she is sniffing and wobbling and generally being cute. Prussia is focused solely on her now, a hand running down her back both soothingly and encouragingly.]

[B-baww, he can't see...well...it's probably alright to approach, right? She's just a lady playing with a bunny (even though, as he strains to see, she seems to be dressed more like a soldier...) so...no stranger danger here.

Tentatively...toddles across the field towards her, very quietly, clutching his cloak around him like a security blanket.]

[Ossi will actually be the first to notice Austria. Her little ears perk up and she lifts her head when she hears him toddling across the field. He may be quiet enough to escape Prussia's notice, but not enough for the acute senses of an animal sorry to say. Prussia gently starts petting her ears, prompting her to look back at her.]

Shhh, what's the matter?

[Though now she looks up, and sees a little boy curled tightly around his cloak and with quite the messy mop of hair from his earlier rolling around. So much so Mariazell doesn't even give him away. She smiles softly and gives a small little wave, not speaking yet lest she scares him.]

[He freezes when she speaks again, and almost makes as if to bolt when she looks up at him, but he manages to hold his ground...at least until she waves, when he simultaneously tries to hide in his cloak and wave back. Which results in him falling back to the ground, sitting and blinking confusedly at his own clumsiness.]

[She bites her lip to suppress a laugh, oh god that was so cute she can't handle it but she doesn't want to scare him away or make him cry because she's laughing at him. When he doesn't get up for a while though she scoops up Ossi and tip toes over to him, crouching down by his side and looking him over for any scrapes.]

Are you okay?

[He watches her approach, almost having a delayed reaction as she crouches near him- he shuffles away a little bit, looking fidgety and nervous...but...bunny...]

A-ah...

[Wait. Your German sounds weird as all hell and he can tell that it's a basically a different language than his own, and therefore, he shouldn't be able to understand it so well...but he can. Hmm...little kid brain gears whirring away...]

Are you like me?! You're as big as Vati!

I think so.

[Because she can tell he's a bitty nation pretty much instantly. She's been spending enough time with the two Teutons that it doesn't even register with her for a moment that his German is different from what she's used to, and even when it does she doesn't give it much thought since she can understand him perfectly fine. Shifting Ossi to one arm she hesitantly puts a hand on his head.]

My full name is die neuen Bundesländer. But no one calls me that. You can call me Julchen if you like. Who are you?

[Not that she can't tell now that she's this close, but potential scrapes and booboos take precedent over squeeing at the baby boyfriend.]

New? Are you new? You look old...

[Shifts around a little bit, but ultimately relaxes under her hand, Mariazell bouncing a little. It's basically a brand new addition to him at this point, by the by. 'Mary in the cell' has only just been brought to him!]

No I'm not, it's just a brand new name. I've only had it for twenty years.

[She smiles a little, her eyes instantly darting to Mariazell. It would be quite weird to see either Austria without one at this point, though she can't imagine what it must be like to suddenly have a hair that refuses to go down no matter what you do.]

And it sounds like you just got a new name too, didn't you? Changing names all the time is pretty freaking annoying right? That's why nicknames are the best thing ever! You call me Julchen and I'll call you Roddy okay?

It's...a pain. But I think they like this one so I won't change again. [Ahaha, yes you will, kiddo.]

Roddy? Alright...Julchen. Oh, are you in the Empire? And...um...what is her name...?

[Gestures to Ossi! And gosh, it's the most annoying strand of hair and people pull it...but he can't get rid of it because apparently it's holy and whatever.]

Won't that be nice if it's true, hmm?

[Erk...well. It was hard enough explaining time travel and alternate dimensions to Teeny she's not even going to bother with this one. She can answer truthfully without giving it away right? Besides at least there's no shiny technology around to distract him.]

I used to be. But not anymore.

[She shifts Ossi, lifting her up until she's just inches from Austria's face. Now be nice dear, that holy hair will get you lots of attention and pettings in the future.]

And this is Ossi.

Mm...oh, really...? But we only just started, it's not nice to leave so soon. Ah...Ossi!

[Blinks and shies away a little, but regains his confidence, leaning in until they're nose to nose, and her bunny whiskers tickle him.]

Hehe...

I wouldn't worry too much about it kiddo. I promise I'm super nice anyway.

[Your empire is not all it's cracked up to be, you losers didn't want me anyway weh weh. She smiles nudging her forward a little bit more until her nose touches Austria's. Poor Ossi is a bit confused but ultimately friendly because he smells like the master that was before master but not quite the same.]

Do you like bunnies, Roddy?
