Let's be realistic, I can't finish this set on time, so I'm posting these now before I try to make five crappy icons to get 20 before tonight.
This month flew by and I started on the...30th. Yeah. I don't know either :P I really wish I'd had more time to perfect these, but I had a lot of fun and the random prompts forced me to explore new/forgotten techniques (hello different blending modes, warped text, etc). I looked at the icons made in the past couple of years, and this might be the first time in an age I actually, properly tried to work with text! So I'm glad I did that even if I feel super rusty!
jsfunction, this was an awesome and challenging idea!
It's a busy weekend but I will try to leave comments on all the beautiful sets if I can.

1: Random font: Arial > This was...Surprisingly okay once I went for all caps? Haha.
2: Random praise: "At first look this icon looks really messy (I think it's that texture on screen on the top?) but the more I look at it, the more I like it. I love the colour use, the silhouette and the text!" > Omg, this was so confusing! "That texture on screen on the top"?! I wish I could take a look at the original icon. Also when I read "silhouette", I wanted to cry. Silhouettes are my nemesis. So I went for a character with a hopefully recognisable profile, and song lyrics from what I was listening to when I was making this. (This song, in case you were wondering).
3: Random movie poster: The Golem (2019) > Fire! Darkness! More text! I went for a cap of Flynn and Lucy in front of the Hinderburg in the Timeless pilot and slapped a cap of the journal on top. So Idk how much fire you can actually see, but at least it's dark and orange? *facepalm*

5: Random inspiration icon: Icon by deternot > I love deternot's style, and this icon is so pretty! I chose to focus on the glowy aspect of the icon, and on the golden tones.
6: Random tutorial: Tutorial by scoobyatemysnax > This was both super cool and really hard, haha. It's a completely different process from mine. I love love love scooby's icons with their deep colours and grittiness but I had to try several caps before I found one that allowed me to replicate the blending modes process and get a similar-ish lighting by the end, lol. This was super inspiring though because it...reminded me that blending modes other than Screen, Soft Light and Multiply exist, so I experimented a bit while making some of the other icons.
7: Random Song title: Same Old Same > Okay, I didn't even listen to the song, but this SCREAMED "The Witch's Familiar" and the "Oh, same old, same old, just The Doctor and Clara Oswald in the TARDIS" quote from the Twelfth Doctor. However...the icon making did not go well, haha. I got this pretty cool text arragement but PS crashed and I couldn't replicate it, so eventually I gave up, plus the image quality was against me and I was running out of time, so, meh.
8: Random textures: sweettasteofbitter, shalowater, raiindust > I used the two bigger ones and went for darker saturated colours. I still struggle with Ripper Street caps because they are DARK, I need to figure them out.
9: Random character: Evil Queen | Regina Mills (Once Upon a Time) > Got pretty lucky here as well because I still had quite a few Regina caps sitting around, and OUAT caps I'm really used to, so this was one of the easiest to make.
10: Random song: Madonna - Masterpiece (YouTube | Spotify | Lyrics) > This also required a Twelve/Clara icon, haha.
11: Random palette: exteriorpaints > Not my usual colours, plus I tried another Ripper Street cap, so I don't know about this one. I think I over-contrast my icons often, so I will experiment with more washed out, matte contrast for a bit, but of course I don't know how it's done, and it doesn't look right to me, lol.
12: Random quote: "Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did." - Sarah Caldwell > This reminded me of the Time Team for some reason. This is probably my favourite from this set.
13: Random remake: this icon > These prompts really wanted me to make Clara icons! I'm happy I got to remake this one. This time I went for a cap of the actual scene the quote is from, and I wanted to use the entire sentence so I went for different shapes and text arrangements.
14: Random icontest challenge: Challenge 3: Black and White @ elitesimplicity > All the B&W all the time!
15: Random trope: Break Up Demand > I had no idea what this trope was supposed to be about. According to TV tropes, Gwen and Arthur sort of qualified, so I looked for Merlin caps, but then had a lot of trouble making any sort of colouring work, so I defaulted to B&W and went for this weird washed-out painted look, that I actually kinda like?
