I do not understand why directors always, for every rehearsal, sit in the middle section of the three available sections of audience seating. All of the blocking is then set from the point of view of the audience in the middle section and not at all from the point of view of the audiences on the sides. They are telling the actors "move a little left" or "move a little right, I can't see the girl behind you," while I sitting on the side, have a perfectly clear view of both girls until the director moves them. After that all I see is backs of heads. Half of the audience will have the side views like I do and yet directors never block from the sides!
I actually know why the directors do this. The theater is poorly constructed so that 2/4 of the seats are in the middle with only 1/4 on either side, so it is completely understandable.
But still!
