So, haven't posted in a while. I've been meaning to; every day I start thinking up LJ entries, then get home and just feel so tired that I just can't bother to type them. But today is a little special, and I thought I should relate it to the world: I put down a deposit on my first apartment. Originally, I went to this place to look at a studio that was being renovated; I knew it would be small, I just didn't know it would be THAT small. Seriously, it was like a tiny motel room with a kitchen crammed in. Not even room for a tv, let alone a spinning wheel or loom. So, we (my mom and I) asked to see a loft (the entire community is one bedroom). We walked in and it was like a choir of angels; it's probably just because it seemed so large in comparison. All along, I've been thinking I might have room for a love seat, possibly a chair, too. Now I have room for a full size couch, chairs, a dining table (going to look at a pub table and chairs from Craigslist on Sunday), plus a decent size kitchen. Ok, there's not a lot of counter space, but there's a decent amount of cabinets. There's even enough room to warp my loom. What's the best part? That's just the downstairs! The bedroom, upstairs, and bathroom (also upstairs) are small, but totally usable for a single person. It has air-conditioning, a ceiling fan. We went to Ikea after seeing the apartment, and I got an entertainment center as well as a few kitchen odds and ends. It's intimidating and expensive, gathering all the things one "needs" to live, but also fun. I move in the middle of next month, just after I get back from going to Ivy's wedding in Missouri with Monique. That's right...epic road trip. So between work and vacation, I don't know when I going to find the time to pack. I'm not even really all that sure HOW to pack, since it's just a move across town, not cross country. The problem is mainly the yarn. And all the crap in my room, but that's a different problem. Argh, I guess I need to just take a deep breath, calm down, and get rid of stuff. Wish me luck!
