This last week has been more than a little hectic; on Tuesday, I went to the ob/gyn, and after a very rough visit (seriously, this is the first time I've had bleeding from said exam), she started me on a new medication that made me so nauseated, I had to leave work later that afternoon. Then came Wednesday; I was feeling better, so I agreed to take my mom (very early, for my day off) to Miamisburg for hand surgery. She's still all bandaged up, and therefore unable to do many normal things like refill the water filter, and do dishes. Thursday was my birthday, of course, though the manager at work hadn't realized this, so I got to work. All in all, not a bad birthday, though (I now have a rideable vintage bike, and a set of fleece sheets...yay!). Friday and Saturday proved to be rather normal, if hectic work days, but Sunday rolled around--the day on which we were going to celebrate my mom's birthday (which is the 19th), only she's still bandaged, dad got sick, and my grandmother is going in for heart surgery on Tuesday, so it was more than usually necessary to keep her and dad sequestered so the one didn't infect the other. It seems this surgery, which were initially told was a relatively simple out-patient procedure, is going to take much longer than anticipated, and grandma will likely end up spending the night in the hospital. I managed to switch two work shifts this week so I could have the surgery day off, and close on Wednesday, but I didn't realize at the time that this means closing Wednesday, opening Thursday. That's a very, very short turn-around. Believe me, I've done it. So, it's already been a very stressful, hectic week, and this one is not shaping up to be any better (plus, next week is grandma's birthday, so several people are coming to stay, including one cousin and his new wife, whom I have not met).

Ok, now I'm going to get ready for work. And I finished another book, Kate Morton's Forgotten Garden, which was good if predictable. Not sure what number it is.
