Aside from a lingering cough, I seem to be back in the land of the living. My doc, bless him, loaded me up with a grab-bag of drugs before I left work Friday afternoon, telling me to take whatever combination I thought would help. There are some bennies to being in the health care field, I tell you. I've mostly been doing fine with a combination of a decongestant and 800mg Motrin, and haven't needed the T-3s he gave me in case the throat pain/cough got to be too bad.

I was feeling well enough last night to go see Brokeback Mountain with my cousin. We saw it at the Tampa Theatre, a gorgeous restored 1920's movie palace. I think the acoustics may be a bit off, though, because I only heard about 30% of the dialogue. The story was easy enough to follow, but I'm sure I missed some subtleties. Of course, the fact that I'm pretty damn deaf may have had something to do with it, too.
