So. Busy. Must. Breathe.

With the time I don't have, I'll use the relaxing powers of livejournal to feel like I've accomplished something.

So let's see? What's going on right now? I just got back from one final, I have my last final tomorrow (probably the hardest (class) test I will take as an undergrad). I'm applying to grad schools, and application deadlines are creeping up on me like that strange kid in your chemistry class. You know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, applications are a bigger pain than I could have possibly imagined, and there's no help provided by the school. You're on your own. With letters of recommendation, transcript requests, score requests, endless pages of personal information, SOP essays, and resumes, I feel like a goldfish trying to swim up Niagra Falls. Plus everything costs SO much money. I withdrew $2,000 from my personal life savings account just for applications. This is money that I made back in middle school and high school working at Shoprite and Regal.

My list of schools has changed tremendously, and most of the choices are based on my best bets and friends' suggestions, applying to programs that I think I can be admitted to. I also had to drop several schools because I missed the application deadline. Haha. Also, I applied around the country, so that visiting schools I get admitted to next semester will be all kinds of fun! Here's my new revised list:

1) Caltech (Astrophysics/LIGO) - Hah. I wish.
2) UMD (Nonlinear Dynamics)
3) UMD (Electrophysics) - Engineering degrees are easier, faster, and pay me more
4) UC Irvine (Plasma Physics) - In between San Diego and LA. Sweet.
5) UT Austin (Nonlinear Dynamics)
6) U Colorado, Boulder (Plasma Physics)
7) UVA (Theoretical Physics) - Safety school
8) U Florida (Astrophysics/LIGO) - Safety school

Yeah. So that's it. Hopefully I have decent choices in the spring. Haha.

I'm leaving for Germany in a week from today. I'll be there for a month. I'm visiting my dad, and going all around the alps on various snowboarding trips. I've become a pretty well-traveled snowboarder since Canada last year. I also have a season pass to Whitetail this year, so I'll be going every week in the spring. I just need to get past this week.
