hi!
i wasn't going to be very enthusiastic about this play in telling people about it, because i wasn't very enthusiastic about it in general. but tonight was opening night and it is MAGIC how we have come together and put so much more energy into our performance and also gotten closer as a group. so now i want to tell all of you about it and i hope that you come! i really think you will like it.
the play is called an acre of time, by jason sherman. i play a relatively smaller role. it is at the arts court theatre, at daly and waller i think, 8pm, sat. aug. 19th and aug. 20th.
i hope you're all doing well!
it's interesting how having an audience tonight made our performance better. with so many rehearsals, we had been getting tired of our play. it's interesting because with clarinet i often did not perform better when i had an audience. the other thing that helped our performance tonight was some advice our director gave us last night about trusting ourselves, putting energy into our acting (really the most important thing) and not thinking about the lines we are going to say before we say them.
