mr meecher double-pager in this week's *dandy* comic
yep, this week *mr meecher the uncool teacher* gets to spread out over two pages, in a crazy pirate-based drama lesson story...
i've mentioned before that there are some autobiographical elements to mr meecher, and this week that is especially true, as i trained to teach english and drama, and the approach mr m takes is based on a real way of leading drama with children, called whole group improvisation. it's a great way to teach drama if you're skilled enough to carry it off, and i'm sure there are some drama teachers who do it brilliantly, but in my hands the approach led to chaos not far short of the trouble mr m gets into this week.
there's loads of other great stuff in the comic this week, including two brill new strips, the etherington bros' *yore*, and andy fanton's *boo* (alright boo started last week, but it's still new-ish)
