Beijing, Tokyo, Kyoto, Seoul, and Home

Dec 22, 2007 11:50

My trip ended yesterday.  For eighteen days, I traveled around Beijing, Tokyo, Kyoto and Mount Fuji.  I returned to Seoul yesterday, and will spend the weekend in Korea before heading home on Monday.  I will arrive at 9pm Christmas Eve in Traverse City.  In cinematic fashion, my whole family will be there to greet me.

These last three weeks have changed me.  I am more appreciative, more critical of well...everything.  I have met some incredible people, ate some delightful things, saw sights I thought only existed on postcards, felt feelings that I remain with me for the rest of my life.

Back home in Korea, I am elated to see old friends, the ones who haven't yet left for their home countries.  I will also see my Korean chums, including my precious Jane.  The weekend will be over in a heartbeat, just as my trip was...I am so tired of saying goodbye.

I'll avoid sentimentality for as long as possible.  I'll shamefully put Buble at the end of my playlist.  For now, just now that I miss you.

See you soon, my brothers and sisters.
